The food was great - lots of local dishes and specials too that the waiter recommended to us, and a fantastic chocolate pudding to finish! Good choice of wine and a lovely environment in an old building. Would highly recommend!

This restaurant is located off the beaten track. it was quiet when we went. We ate in an atmospheric ancient room that looked like a medieval hall with high wooden beams and big windows with wooden shutters. The menu is homely and traditional. The food was tasty and filling. There were some twists in the dishes, we had carpaccio with... More

I've been going to Al Carro Armato one or twice annually or about 10 years, and I always look forward to it. It has, as other reviewers say, a rustic charm. It's a "blast from the past". Simple, unpretentious, authentic. Don't come here for a gastronomic experience, but for good home-cooked and authentic Italian food. If you're longing for some... More

I stumbled upon this little osteria whilst wandering some of the less populated streets of central Verona. It is just out of the main tourist area, but quite close to a church, so it still gets a good flow of customers. It occupies a corner position in an old building (naturally), and is a bar/cafe arrangement. What got me in... More

Of all the places to eat, this is one to avoid. Terrible food. Dirty bathrooms - can't believe this place is in Verona!!

I had a dinner there with some friends in October 2015. Every now and then I am in Verona and love to try different places but this won't be tried anymore. The location is pretty fine, looks like a typical "osteria", all the rest is pretty cheap. To be honest it was a pretty busy evening so maybe in quieter... More

we didn't plan to enter this restaurant but its look and our hunger made the decision. It is close to the center and have a decent dish variety. The "home wine" is great. The bin soup was also great and the anchovies pasta was very good and we really loved the deserts- the Creme Brulee, Tiramisu and the Strawberries with... More

If you are looking for a traditional (non touristic) restaurant close to the center, I can totally recommend the " Al carro armato". Me and my friend went there by chance and had the best evening on our whole trip through Italy. The food was excellent, the prices very fair (we payed around 50-55euros with starter, main dish, vine and... More

We visited this restaurant after being recommended by a local. Great food and wine and wonderful service! Spaghetti with tomatoes and basil, baccala with polenta, pasta with duck ragout and a cheese platter was enjoyed by our group.

This is the one restaurant in Verona that has been disappointing. It is not up to the standards of the many trattorias, osteria and other eateries in the area. We visited the restaurant based on walking through the area and looking at their menu. It looks like a nice rustic place (fitting in with the area - which is the... More
