I have eaten in enough Michelin restaurants to know this is far from it. The food was poor to say the least. Verona has incredible local cuisine and wines on offer, however over €200 later, I was quite disappointed at what should have been the highlight restaurant of our trip. I should have trusted the other reviews which urged against... More

We have visited La Fontanina with my wife in a nice June evening. We take capesante for starters, delicious with a modern touch of redberry. The nero seppia pasta with aglio, olio, peperoncino is the best ever - very exquisite. We were not very much impressed by the rombo or tonno as a main course, tasty but only average. Deserts... We chose this restaurant because of it's Michelin star and were disappointed. There is a significant gap between the advertised and actual prices. Food was average, definitely not Michelin star worthy. We had almost the same menu (and of the same quality!) one day before in a different restaurant in Verona for 1/3 of the price.

Advertised for 65 eur per person degustation menu, waiter said 100, later this meant 100 plus cuvert plus obligatory tip of 10%, plus wine of course. Food was below average for a michellin star restaurant. Toilet was awfull and small. Even if we asked for a taxi because it rained, they did not call it, we were totally wet. Inside... More

So it's a fun, high quality experience for a treat. We really liked the decor and ambience and the hospitality and waiting staff were exceptional. Yes the food was mainly excellent, and of course michelin star, however even taking that into consideration we felt it was over-priced. Choose wisely: I really love food, and would rarely turn down anything, but... More

Excellent food atmosphere. The hosts were amazing. Not to mention the wine..... We booked the restaurant last minute but they fitted us in even though the place was full.

We chose this restaurant only because of its Michelin star and were very disappointed! I've been before in 1 and 2 star Michelin restaurants in Lisbon and Paris and I have an idea of the expected level of quality, food and services. The restaurant is located in a very old romantic villa, interestingly decorated inside. The interior is very small... More

Antipasto: Baccala. Very good, innovative. Primo: Agnolotti with Parmesan mousse. Absolutely amazing. Maybe the best pasta dish I've ever had. Secondo: Small bird with a mushroom sauce. Very good. Wine card: Very, very good. Service: Excellent, I suggest to follow the tips from the waiter. Conclusion: Highly recommended, if they have a Michelin star, it's well deserved. Prices are a... More

Food was fine but in my personal opinion a little stodgy. The tourist tax was my biggest complaint and unnecessary. It stated on the English menu not the Italian menu that 10% was added to the bill for service which personally i think is rude but I was happy to pay it. However our 70 euro wine became 85 euro...
