Our first night in Venice and we came upon this place for our first ciccetti. Very tasty it was too. Quite a trendy place, plenty of locals, with the usual two stools in the campo facing area. Wine good. Friendly staff, what more do you want? Campo has great ambience too, very close to the Rialto bridge and market areas.... More

We went to that restaurant on Christmas eve and took lobster spaghetti. We're still looking for lobster ! Instead of lobster, we got meatballs. Definitely a place to avoid in Venezia !

My first day in Venice, it was raining, the water was high, flooding over the banks of the Grand Canal, so that the touristic restaurants had preserved their outdoor seating with plastic canopies and "tourist menus" -- none of which appealed to me, so I went to the other side of the Rialto bridge, where the water was so high... This is our last whole day in Venice and we were out walking again. Headed over to the Rialto Bridge and found Al Pesador on the Grand Canal. While we were waiting for our food and enjoying a beer, I looked at TA reviews. Some of them were horrible! My tuna salad(12E) was superb. Heavy on the tuna, olives, tomatoes... More

Rainy day in a small bistro near by Rialto. Our waiter was extremly charmful and motivated, he showed us a nice and professional services. The food is much more better than the avarage rate in the TripAdvisor. Highly recommended!

Just dropped in late for supper. Waitrons were helpful and efficient. We have Venetian tapas, pasta with clams and sea bass. The fish were fresh and the bass particularly tasty and fresh. We had a nice time, but as others have mentioned it's pricey: supper for two with 3 glasses of wine, 2 mains and a shared starter cost us... More

This is one of several little bars in a square located close to the Rialto bridge. Good selection of alcohol at reasonable prices. Decent atmosphere on a Saturday night.

We went here twice on our visit. Once for drinks and another for dinner. Quality of food is excellent, but prices are higher here because it is located on the Grand Canal. But it is still worth going to. Quiet inside if that is what you seek. Can sit outside to take in the Grand Canal

My friend had a Lonely Planet guide and this restaurant was in the list of the best ones...I ordered the lobster spaghetti...and I was definitely not happy. The waiter told me it was good quality lobster...maybe it was, but it was absolutely overcooked! The pasta was under cooked, and there's nothing sadder than getting poorly made pasta when you are... This place was very disappointing. The prices are higher than similar places nearby . The service was efficient but the food was very bland and tasteless. If you enjoy good food there very cheaper and much better places nearby. Be warned!

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
