We had a really lovely meal here with super, friendly service. I recommend that you book up early as we were in Venice in late November, relatively quiet and still we had to wait 2 days for a table. worth it though!

The Enoteca Ai Artisiti is a very nice enoteca located in Dorsoduro with a small terrasse outside. As enoteca it is good for aperitivo, if you have the luck to find a place to eat: food is tasty and really excellent!

The walls are lined with some of Italy's best wines, but the food also commands your full attention. Think of it as wine pairing, as opposed to food pairing, and it does not disappoint. I had fresh pasta with sausage that really let the ingredients sing, while their pomodoro, which is my bellweather pasta test, came laced with straciatella cheese... More

My husband and I have been in Italy for 3 weeks now and tonight we had the best yet in all of Italy. We stumbled upon here by mistake and thought we would just have a cheese platter and beef tartare, however after seeing the dishes coming out we had to order more!! The beef with pumpkin gnocchi was incredibly... More

We had a wonderful pasta lunch here on my husband's 30th birthday. We had it book-marked as somewhere to look out for an evening meal but when we stumbled across it on a sunny lunchtime and saw a free table out next to the canal we decided to go straight away. We were not disappointed! I had the Spider Crab... More

The owner of our hotel made reservations for us. We sat at a small table that allowed us to see foot traffic on the street outside. Food was excellent: we had sea bass and tuna dishes, complimented with an excellent white wine recommended by the proprietor. The restaurant is very small, so reservations, at either 7pm or 9pm, are essential.

My husband and I ate here while in Venice for a few days after finding it on TripAdvisor. We enjoyed the atmosphere in the small room. Our food and wine were excellent and the price was reasonable given the excellent quality of the food. Highly recommend it!

We had booked this restaurant 3 months before our visit and were quite excited. Other restaurants in Venice however had disappointed so we were prepared for the worst. Wrong! It was truly a wonderful evening. It's a small intimate restaurant with seating for no more than 20 or so. Everything was perfect. The waiter was totally charming (he remembered my... More

They insist on a phone reservation and after a visit you see why. It is quite small and hence the 2 seatings concept (7 & 9). However, it is worth the effort. Location is on a small canal and not far from the Ca Rezzonica bus stop. The food was outstanding and suggest listening to what Alex or the other... More

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
