My delicious and delightful lunch was in September 2015. I just came to this site because I wanted to know the hours and possible day it is closed (seems to be open 7 days a week) for my return visit in May. This quiet place seemed to be serving locals and me!

We were staying locally and fancied a cheaper dinner option one evening... In and out in an hour, very tasty pizza. There was a huge party of locals in, with lots of children, running in and out, but the staff worked around the madness, delivering hot and fresh pizza without delay.

Ask for the spaghetti con frutti di mare if you want some pasta with seafood... Delicious and far away from the crowds!!! The service is a little bit slow, but totally worth it.

We've been in Venice for 4 days and have eaten at 4-5 restaurants. The meals we had here were the best. I ordered spaghetti (tomato and basil) and my partner ordered the pizza al carbonara. The service was not good, however. The waiter who greeted us seemed irritated by us from the beginning and we sat there after our meal... More

We had an amazing lunch at this restaurant. The spaghete carbonara and pizza were absolutely sublime. Worth the trip from the main island

We had Pizza takeaway twice from this lovely restaurant this week. Lovely tasty food and really friendly staff. Had a beer whilst waiting too , so a bonus. There is a lovely sunny garden to eat in, but we didn't get to eat there this time as we were out and about in the day , but next time hopefully... More

The mussels are just brilliant! Even though labeled as entree, they could easily go for a main course. The place also has a terrace, perfect for a nice summer evening.

This was a repeat visit to da Sandro on the Giudecca. It is a very friendly place, very welcoming and the food is excellent. We had a simple meal of a mixed antipasti platter and two pasta dishes. All were beautifully cooked/presented and the wine ( a very nice montepulciano d'abruzzo) was lovely. The whole meal cost €80 and was... More

Went out for dinner with my mum for a simple little meal close by our hotel. Food was amazing!! I had mussels with tomato sauce which had a bread 'lid' over it for you to dip into the sauce, it was so simple yet so delicious!! Best meal I've had so far!! Reason I've rated it 4/5 was because there... More

Staying in Giudecca

Neighborhood Profile
Giudecca is a retreat for Venetians away from the crowds. Symbolically, six metal teeth represent Venice’s six sestieri (districts); the seventh, Guidecca, points away from the others – part of Dorsoduro, but separated by the Giudecca Canal. Giudecca evolved from a center of shipyards and factories to a quiet residential area with a sprinkling of restaurants and bars. The majestic harmonious Redentore church stands as thanks for delivering Venice from the plague, hosting an annual heartfelt festival.
