We made this reservation months ago, and we are so happy we did! The setting was very romantic, and the staff incredibly professional. We started by sharing the beef carpaccio with smoked ricotta & Porcini mushroom sorbet. So flavorful! Our pastas were amazing, and the dessert we shared was delicious & very pretty. The rose was a nice touch, especially... More

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel (Hilton Molino Stucky), but it was a real disappointment. The bread was stale, the pasta was tough, and the service was so slow that it took us two hours to just have one course. I had wanted dessert, but since they never came to take an order, I finally decided that we just... More

Booked this restaurant as it was recommended by hotel and tripadvisor. They also state on their website they specialise in birthdays and celebrations so we thought it ideal for a big birthday. It was ok but bearing in mind the prices which are quite high even for Venice then it only gets average marks. Food is very personal hence this... More

After being warned of the high prices in Venice, we watched our budget for the first two days of our 3-day pre-cruise stay, but since this restaurant was located directly beneath our hotel, it was hard not to be drawn to it. At Saturday at about 630, we decided to go and somehow the concierge wangled a table for 4... More

We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel. We sat outside and the atmosphere was lovely. However straight away our waiter was practically begging us to have champagne. Then we got pushed into 'tasting' the olive oil which we then later realised was us having to buy two mini bottles of their olive oil which he then opened for us... More

This is one of the restaurants that displays prominently the Tripadvisor ratings and serve excellent food. The few Tripadvisor recommended restaurants that I visited in Italy were forgettable and not worth my review. Try the tourist set menu which costs around 35 Euros and you could choose a starter, main course and a dessert. This restaurant serves excellent beef carpaccio--... More

We came across this restaurant by accident one lunch time whilst looking for a wine bar my cousin had read about and wanted to visit which we never found, thank goodness! We were given a light lunch menu and a 'heavy' menu to choose from which all sounded delicious. There were 4 of us and we wanted a bottle of... More

I had arranged in advance for a romantic dinner with my wife and they delivered over and above. We had a great table looking down to a small canal with a passing series of gondolas complete with singing echoing down the canal. The food was traditional 14th and 16th century Venetian - delicious .... would highly recommend a visit but... More

Our hotel la commedia recommended this restaurant. We ate there 3 times . Loved the delicate receipes. Tried the turbot for 2. Every thing we had was beautifully served. Wine list is extensive, prices average to highly expensive.our bill for 2people around just over 200euros. Would go back to eat again next time in Venice

We stumbled upon this restaurant our first night in Venice. We decided to eat there the last night of our honeymoon and were not disappointed. This was one of the best meals I have possibly ever had. My husband and I live in NYC and love to try new places and great restaurants. This one gave the best here a... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
