At first we weren't too sure what to think about this restaurant. It seemed very touristic. We made a reservation and they did expect us. The food and wine was amazing. If you go there, try the octopus as an appetizer and the carbonara for your main dish.

The concierge at our hotel recommended the Bistrot de Venise for a nice romantic dinner whilst here in Venice. I am on honeymoon with my wife and this restaurant could not have been a better choice. The food was phenomenal (creative and not run of the mill by any stretch of the imagination). The service was also outstanding. Bravo!!

We found this place on our lookout for a nice dinner. The staff were very friendly and took good care of us during the whole meal. The food were great and we got a few additional dishes extra to our food.

This was recommended by our hotel (Cavalieri) as we were meeting our friends from South Africa who were on a cruise ship docking in Venice. From the moment we arrived the service was excellent. The food is outstanding, even my wife's basic vegetarian ravioli was unbelievable. When we arrived at the table there was a card that had "Welcome UK... More

Cannot rate highly enough. Food was excellent as was the service, everything you would expect from a Michelin starred restaurant. The wait between courses demonstrated that each was freshly prepared and allowed time for the previous to settle. I had zucchini flowers, fresh pasta ravioli and then the duck. My wife had scallops, ravioli and sea bass - all cooked... More

We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel (the Antiche Figure) for a special meal as it was our 25th wedding anniversary - we were not disappointed. From the moment we arrived the service was superb, immediately asking us if we would like a glass of Prosecco. Our waiter was very attentive throughout, providing as much information as we required... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
