We came upon this place as we were staying across the street in Palace Bonvecchiati. This did not disappoint. Great atmosphere, beautiful setting outside under the awnings with Italian music playing, waiters in tuxes, candle lights on the tables. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic! Our waiter explained the dishes and the wine selections with great detail.... More

On the recommendation of friends, i have this a try. Wonderful, impeccable service, first class oils and wines. Entrees are edgy, with a modern take on old favorites. Pappa al pomodoro with no discernable bread except for an herbal crouton, but a surprise taste tickler of a minty sorbet. An experience. I highly recommend the rose sorbet. Coffee comes with... Made the booking on the strength of other trip advisor reviews and wasn't disappointed. A short stay in Venice with family to celebrate a number of special birthdays. A charming restaurant that provided a great setting, great food and great wine (recommended by the excellent sommelier).

This is not the first time we have visited the Bistrot de Venise. If you want excellent food then you should certainly give this a go. I booked a week before online and was able to add a rose for both my daughter and wife. The meal was rounded off with a heart shape cake, much to the excitement of... More

We wanted something special for a 25th wedding Anniversary meal, and we certainly got it in this restaurant. Service and food were exemplary, a beautiful evening.

We found this place while walking through the pretty lanes of Venice. It was my birthday and we were looking for a nice place to have dinner and this place just seemed very nice. And we were right! The ambience was classy, the food was just so delicious, full of flavors and presented very well. The desserts were just amazing... More

Wondering where to have lunch we were invited in by a waiter outside - the norm in Venice, a feature of tourist traps and so I usually smile and decline. However this place seemed to have character, so we decided to go for it. A lovely atmosphere, fine dining and friendly staff. Ticked all our boxes! One to remember to... More

I can say with 100% certainty this was our best meal from a week’s visit in Venice - and we tried all the top restaurants! No, it hasn't got the views being in a side street but it has everything else in double lashing. The staff made it, the food was fantastic and coat that with good service over the... More

We ate here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It is a very romantic place. The food was delicious. We selected their 4 course fixed menu which has good choices. Loved it and will return.

We were traveling with our family of five which includes myself, my husband and three boys 16,14, and 11. This restaurant might have been a little too sophisticated for us, but I was ready for something besides pizza. Our waiter couldn't have been nicer, although we didn't represent the restaurant's typical clientele. Everyone was able to find something that they... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
