Just called in on the off chance . We didn't book but Walter was good enough to find us a table . Very good menu and wine list . The staff I found to be rather good . They took the time to explain the dishes and to offer advice . Really enjoyed the food . Had a coffee after... More

Food and service were excellent. The waiter recommended dishes and he was right on. The burata cheese was fantastic. The olive oil delicious. The chicken diavlo was just the right spice. The zucchini blossoms area must to try. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

We met a friend who had flown in from Switzerland. Our friend had booked the table via the internet and the restaurant confirmed the booking within 40 mins. of writing the inquiry. We were given a lovely quiet table where we could talk. The food was delicious with good service to match. The Sommelier made an excellent recommendation. we were... More

We visited the restaurant our last evening in Venice! We told them one family member had a fish allergy and another allergic to nuts. The waiter guided us through the menu and took the time to check ingredients. They even remade a sauce without nuts for us. It's rare today for service to include such details! Back to the meal!!... This restaurant was recommended by the hotel concierge and we really enjoyed our first dinner experience in Venice! The restaurant is not far away from Piazza San Marco in a quiet small street. Possibility to eat outside which is great during summer. The card offers a variety of surprising dishes and delicious wines. Friendly staff who really helped to make... More

This restaurant has it all: great Italian food, good cocktails/whine, very friendly personnel and a very romantic setting in one of the small streets in the heart of Venice. Everything is a bit expensive but no regrets at all. Would recommend it!

Had a great evening at Bistrot de Venise and would return if we ever go back to this amazing city. Our waiter, Walter, made this such a special night for us as he had great suggestions and took care of our every want.

12% tax and service on the top of the bill and still “tip not included” (as written on the invoice)? Have you ever seen this? Well, I hadn’t, but it is never too late. The Bistrot de Venise gave me this opportunity. As, also, it made me conscious of the financial risk of wishing to accompany your coffee with a... More

Bistrot de Venice is probably the most beautiful restaurant in Venice, but it does have prices to match. Classy, elegant, cosy, professional multilingual service, just perfect! Unique in offering original 14th-18th century's dishes, which cannot be found anywhere else! This place is an absolute gem. If you want to indulge yourself, and are willing to pay for it, this is... Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
