La Rivista is the in-house restaurant at the Ca' Pisani hotel. We found the service to be prompt, friendly and helpful. The food was a joy to behold and enjoy. Each dish was fresh, flavorful and crafted with care. We found the level of thought, sophistication and presentation to be a cut above the many other restaurants serving Venetian food.... More

A small distance from the oppressive turistic crowding, in a wide but quiet street we were served by a very polite personnel really well-cooked food. Only four or five tables outside.

I had lunch here with my boyfriend and his parents. We had a great meal: baccalà mantecato, 4 different types of "saor", bigoli in salsa and bigoli con le cozze. This plate, likwise the antipasto "salvia fritta", were not on the menu but were suggested by the chef and we did appreciate the suggestions with fresh ingredients. The chocolate dessert... More

La Rivista is a wine and cheese bar attached to Ca Pisani hotel. However my partner and I ate there on two occasions and it offered more than just cheese and wine. The menu is limited though the staff are proud that the food served is local and that some of it is traditional Venetian food. I had a divine... More

We arrived at sunset and walked a long way to our hotel so as we were tired and hungry we went into the first restaurant we found for dinner. Everything was wonderful. The food was excellent, modern Italian food made with good ingredients and creativity. The service was friendly and proper. The young waiter spoke English which in our tired... More

A great place to eat, Fabio was very attentive and explained the dishes very well. Well situated and an easy walk back to our hotel near San Marco. Would definitely go there again, maybe for lunch next time as it's so close to the Accademia.

In a quiet street between Accedemia and Zattere in the fascinating area of Dorsoduro (a must visit in Venice) and part of a beautiful hotel in a carefully renovated 15 C building. We sat outside in the autumn sunshine and received excellent service from Fabio and a waitress. The pasta was superb as was the ravioli. The dessert we chose... More

We had a party of 9 that came into lunch at the end of lunch service, our waiter Fabio explained it could take 40 minuets but we were all ok with that. The service was wonderful! Fabio and Sheila could not have been more outstanding in every aspect of service. The food was fresh and excellent tasting. I would suggest... More

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
