We visited the restaurant twice during our trip to Venice. The spaghetti bolognese, spaghetti carbonara and caprese salad were our favourite!

My wife and I discovered the da Sandro restaurant by accident - and what a happy accident! We were walking through the San Polo district and we needed to stop for lunch. As we were passing we stopped at Da Sandro - I had a pizza and my wife had a salad both meals beautifully prepared and presented. Good food,... More

We tried lots of wine during our trip to Venice. All of it quite pricey in our oppinion. Came here cos my partner really wanted a drink. Wine by the glass was a good price and it tasted fantastic! Didn't eat anything though. Staff were nice enough. Would definitely visit again.

This was close to out hotel and we enjoyed an espresso each day and a spritz each night. Seemed to be scattered with a few locals and tourist each time. We didn't eat there, so I cannot comment. But a nice spot to relax and sip.

It is a small place with a few tables inside and a few higher small tables on the out side. It is a family business and the service is very kind, nice place to sit. The Lasagna was pretty good, clams spaghetti, tomato spaghetti and Pesto Pasta were all OK and even with too much oil for our taste. The... More

We heard from our friend the the black pasta was good so we decided to try. The black pasta was good but not amazing, clam spaghetti was too salty, octopus salad was just normal. I guess we expected too much going in.

As noted in the review of Ristorante Pizzeria Da Sandro, there are 2 Da Sandro restaurants in Venice. This is confusing. We ate at - and rated the Ristaurante Pizzerie Da Sandro, which is the OTHER listing.

My husband and I are visiting Venezia on our honeymoon, and Da Sandro was recommended to us. We ordered the meat lasagne and spaghetti with shrimps and tomato, and both dishes were lovely. We really enjoyed watching the chef cook the meals in front of us and the owner was quite a character. Definitely a great place for a filling... More

My husband and I were exploring Venice on a cool January day and wanted a light lunch that would warm us up. We stumbled upon Da Sandro and found just that. My husband ordered a beer and I got the house red wine - for 2 euros, it was quite good. I was determined to try pasta e fagioli while... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
