The perfect place to eat all the seafood that is famous for Venice and the Veneto region. From antipasti and primi piatti to secondi piatti, all dishes were prepared for seafood enthusiasts. It is quite enjoyable to eat in the courtyard when the weather is nice.

I had dined in this restaurant over 15 years ago on a business trip and thought it was a great find. It's more popular now but the cuisine was even better than I remembered. My husband and I had an outstanding meal that was prepared to perfection. We had the special striped bass and it just melted. The service was... More

I have been to Corte Sconta several times over the last few years and the food is exceptional. If you are looking for the best offerings of Venetian seafood, this the the place. Also, the local wines that the owner pairs with the dishes are lovely. I highly recommend allowing them to create a special menu. You won't forget it.... More

Never fails to deliver. This occasion was exceptional in that they had to deal with an unexpected thunderstorm losing third of their booked tables. Wonderful how they delt with it and everyone was looked after under difficult circumstances. Congratulations and see you again when we return. The final lovely touch was for the lovely lady owner to walk us to... More

We were recommended to try this this restaurant by our Hotel we were staying in while in Venice, (Metropole). We were not disappointed. The menus were fantastic, the drinks were good and the service and atmosphere was alive and buzzing. The house special, soft shell crab was simply scrumptious and the scampi tails were also very very good as well.... More

Excellent service with many well done local fish dishes on offer. Reservations are a must, and ask for a courtyard table.

This was a borderline 3/4 stars (points) for me. We have eaten at this restaurant 4 or 5 times now. Over recent times when we have visited the city, if it was open, we have always made a point of booking a dinner. The food is good but I have to say on our last visit we felt it missed... More

This was the last restaurant we visited before our journey home. After two weeks in Italy, we were not sure it could get much better. But Corte Sconta did it. Check your maps, you would not normally look for a great restaurant buried in the alley ways. But, this beautiful courtyard patio that is crowned with a 130 year old... More

The concierge at the Cipriani recommended this restaurant - he said it's one of his favorites and we had to agree. We all ordered salads and fish - either the mixed fish platter or the whole roasted fish, and it was simply delicious. It seems to be family run, and they run a very efficient place, with excellent service and... More

There are not enough words to describe how amazing this place is. the food is heaven and the service equally impressive. Go with an Italian and you will have the time of your life. Can't wait to go again.

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
