See my other review under Acqua Pazza. Salty food, poor service and no local regional wine. Acqua Pazza lacking content

place definitely worth visiting, bit upscale. Impressive seafood, good service. Nice touch - anchovies bruscetta as a starter, bisquits and limoncello at the end - on the house!

We really enjoyed here and ate outside in the square. Food was wonderful and service quick and friendly. Expensive.

We were recommended to try this restaurant for lunch via our hotel receptionist, we walked past it at lunch and didn't book as it looked very busy and full ... so on the way back to the hotel we reserved a table for dinner. At that point we were very clearly told by a very busy waiter that my husband... More

Went to lunch to this restaurant; the food was ok but pricy. If you are paying 200 euros for a lunch for three, you at least expect it to be a nice and relaxing experience, but the manager was yelling at his waiters in front of all customers all the time, and it was disturbing. Such behavior definitely sends bad... More

The restaurant, set in a pleasant square in Venice was recommended by a friend. We hadn't made a reservation, it was busy, but they 'managed 'to fit us in. We asked the head waiter what he recommended and surprising it was the most expensive thing on the menu - the lobster. We should have realised then and left. It went... More

We had a wonderful outdoor dining experience at Acquapazza. We were looking for a great restaurant that wasn't too fancy, and had more than just seafood on the menu. Although this restaurant does not allow you to wear shorts, it fit the bill. Everything we had was delicious. The house wine was even pretty good too! We considered going back... More

This was one of our favorite meals in Venice. We really enjoyed the pizza and bruschetta. The melon and prosciutto was also excellent. The pizza was really good, which we didn't truly appreciate until after we had been in Venice a few days and had some mediocre pizza elsewhere. The restaurant is set in one of the many quiet squares... More

While we loved the Venetian style food with its delicious and fresh seafood, Acquapazza offered a nice but subtle change from the other Venetian restaurants. We were seated outside immediately without a reservation. After ordering, we were brought an assortment of antipastis including brushetta and some other tasty bites. Our pasta dishes were perfectly al dente. The pizza was also... More

Decent food, away from the crowd, value for money is not great but by Venice standards it's ok. The starters were good, had the mussels and the caprese. For main, the tuna pasta was nice, but the lobster linguini was a little bland. Men must wear pants, it's a must or you will be turned away.

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
