Thank you so much to the friendly staff at Bar Al Canton. From day one you have been so welcoming and helpful. You have treated us the same as everyone else and not like a tourist, which is very much appreciated. We love coming here...and it is such a delightful location at any time of day. I encourage others to come and meet you too. Grazie mille!More

Sat here on a couple of late afternoons waiting for the sun to set. Right by the side of the canal, you can watch a bit of the world go by and enjoy a cold beer or spritzer. Excellent service too.

Found this bar by accident in an outlying part of Venice. House wine is only €1 per glass but very drinkable local young wine. Both red and white. So the red is also served chilled. What could be better in a warm sunny afternoon. Wehadplannedtotrythehoise...wine and move up but no desire to change. Lovely location out of the hustle and bustle too. We'll be back.More

Title says it all. Come here if you want to relax and take a break from a long day of walking. The bartenders are friendly and the music selection is indie and eclectic.

What a great find, a restaurant/bar in Venice that wasn't full of tourists and charging outrageous prices. In a pretty setting, with outside seating, I guessed this might be good as there were lots of students partaking of beer etc. They welcomed two elderly english...ladies and provided friendly service with good food at very affordable prices.More

I think that I’m beginning to develop paranormal powers. I have only to think of a book that I would like to consult from our bulging bookshelves for it to immediately disappear. This growing gift seems to be spreading to restaurants where we would like...to eat. They all seem to be closed for one reason or the other. Last Friday, on the recommendation of a friend we went to a certain restaurant. It was sort of half open. It was 7.15. We decided to have a walk around as surely it would open at 7.30 at the latest. Around the corner was a bar. We were in a quiet area of Venice, not very frequented by visitors but only a few minutes from both San Basilio and Piazzale Roma. This is a student area and though there were few students around on a Friday evening this particular bar was open and busy. We sat outside amongst a lovely, lively crowd. We only had two spritz but knowing the spritz bars of Venice I can say that these were good. We returned a couple of days later and had a bite to eat. I can see this becoming a regular haunt.More
