We were staying at an apartment nearby and were actually kept up at night due to activity at this restaurant -- so we figured we might as well check it out. It's an Italian interpretation of Mexican food, so don't expect authenticity. That said, the food was decent and good-sized, and enough staff spoke English to avoid any difficulties. And... More

Visited with my husband and 2 children for tea whilst in venice to try to have a break from Italian food (2 weeks of pizza and pasta is enough for anyone! ). The restaurant was not too busy and they squeezed us in but it soon got hectic. The service was ok - but things did seem quite frantic -... More

Situated down a small side alley the restaurant serves fresh and tasty Mexican food which offers a great alternative to the rich and heavy local Italian cuisine. Top tip - if you carry on down the side street there's a back canal with loads of lovely small wine bars for afters

The place is nice we sat outsite, we had to wait 30 mins before the waiter came and other 30 mins for the food to arrive. Considering that the place was almost empty, that was way too much! The food quality was average, I live in Venice and I will surely will not come back here.

we were impressed with the food, the authentic decor and they even had real Mojitos. Salsa was superb and black beans was a nice touch in the chili con carne and with the fajitas

My friend and I have been in Italy for about one week, and we've eaten so much Italian food, we needed a change. I'm a huge Mexican fan, and so finding this place was great. The food was great, service was a little less so but I think it was more due to volume vs. staff than anything else. I... More

Intimate, busy and very popular with the locals; this bar/restaurant is great for those wanting a taste of Mexican cuisine whilst exploring Venice. Located down a side alley, this restaurant is reasonably priced, with mains ranging from €8-€15. Decent selection of cocktails, soft drinks and a couple of beers at €3.50. Staff are friendly, speaking a range of languages and... More

We ate here on our Trip to Venice. So authentic. Food was amazing and cocktails are great. Really nice feel to the place. Very busy and popular so get in early or book. Would 1000% recommend.

Feel good restaurant. Happy patrons, great food, great service, priced in reason. There are plenty of Mexican restaurants here in Canada, so we thought it might be interesting to try one in Venice. Of course we did the traditional and not so traditional Italian, but this little gem offered up a new slant on Mexican. Nothing otherworldly, but a few... More

Came here with my family after a long day sightseeing in Venice. We were able to sit down right when we arrived (6:30pm), despite it being Saturday night and the hostess telling us she had a busy night. We enjoyed the food and drinks and recommend this to anyone!

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
