We started our dinner at a restaurant nearby, but just didn't get the right feel.. So, we paid the check and left.. Thank goodness we did. We stumbled on this place, and had the BEST experience of our trip in Italy. The food was good,...More

We loved all, the food, the place and the service. Excellent location on the way to the train station. Feel like a family kirchen, the price is related to the quality.

One of the challenges in Italy - especially in tourist heavy locations such as Rome, Florence and Venice, is distinguishing the "local' restaurants that are just hack tourist rip offs and those that are authentic local haunts - especially for lunch. Vittoria da Aldo falls...More

First night in Venice decided to try out this restaurant. Worst decision ever. Inflated prices. Tiny portions. Limp salad. I had the sea bass, although tasty it came with about half a sliced potato and two tiny baby tomatoes. A friend had the lasagne which...More

The restaurant is well presented, I have a nice pasta with seafood sauce and wife had a loaded fish soup. The owner and people were very receptive and amicable. One thing price of "vino della casa" was high and this takes few points against Trattoria

Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district)
with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many
transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying
areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand
for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal
bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution,
2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli
Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby

Not sure of the hours but we stumbled upon them fairly late and they were open .... at least 11. I’m sure time of year is a factor as well though ....
