A fantastic little restaurant serving mainly an excellent selection of pasta and seafood. The spaghetti with lobster was divine as was one of their shared antipasti for two. Creative and delicious rather than trying to be too inventive.

We were a party of 7, fairly late at night and having difficulty finding a place to eat. The server joked with us that he could have something for us in a couple of hours and in no time he had rearranged tables and we were seated. The food and wine were fabulous and the service was even better. This... More

Amazing atmosphere! The manager went out of his way to bring us a cheese plate! The wine was amazing and the food! You must stop in!

Outstanding menu and wine list. Very attentive service, great atmosphere and delicious food too. Not easy to find, but we were referred by a friend and our hotel gave us great directions

Was just going to have a Aperol Spritz but after reading Trip Advisor reviews I elected to eat. Had filet with pepper corn sauce. Glorious. Glad I read the reviews. Would definitely go back

They have typical Italian dishes and those from the Veneto region, quite a lot of choices. Even though it is located in the tourist area, they pay a lot of attention to prepare with great attention. The spaghetti is al denté and the size is just right. The white wine sauce of my spaghetti with clams is so refreshing and... More

Our first morning in Venice and a visit to the Accademia Gallery for a dose of late Renaissance with Veronese. Lunchtime beckoning, we walked without any firm ideas back towards San Marco. There, beside a smalll canal and a gondola stop Ristorante Cantinone Storico glistened. We decided to eat outside and were sat next to a Brit fluent in Italian... More

We ate here at the recommendation of our hotel, and we had travelled for 20 hours and wanted something close. Excellent food, service, and ambiance.

We stumbled across this beautiful little restaurant completely by accident. Staff were friendly and attentive, nothing was too much trouble. The food was absolutely divine. The gnocchi tasted like happiness itself! Beautiful Italian comfort food right there. The steak was cooked to perfection and just melted in the mouth. Couldn't recommend highly enough.

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
