A really fantastic restaurant tucked off the main drag, which felt special to discover. The experience beat the very fancy fine dining restaurant we went to the night before by a country mile and was a third of the price. Relatively simple cooking, but done...really well and what you expect from great Italian food. Thanks Service was good and the house white hit the spot. We had a really fabulous night.More

We were treated to great traditional food. The waiter was very nice in the service and food was delivered in a time that shows that it is not precooked. We loved every bite. Given the size of the place, it is best to book in...advance.More

1st class place for cichetti. Also a very good selection of wines - no Spritz's!! Good lively atmosphere and plenty of locals using this place. We only called in for cichetti on our way to another restaurant but I wish I had eaten here instead....The food coming out of the kitchen looked excellent.More

Osteria Al Cicheto Authentic Italian food is served at this locally owned diner. The manager comes out to greet the patrons. The waitress was kind. The restaurant is small and cozy. The restaurant is within walking of the hotels, water taxis and the train station.

We had a beautiful dinner here on our first night in Venice. Firstly I loved the vibe. It was small and intimate and hidden away in a little alley yet very vibrant. The food was excellent and the wine selection is great. The cuttlefish pasta...and pork cheeks are the highlights for me. One of the best places we ate at on our trip.More

Has everything, atmosphere, location and great food. Not very big though, so go at a quiet time or wait. Absolutely to be recommended.

A very small - almost tiny - osteria tucked into a side lane off the main strip up from the station. Known only to afficianados and the locals I would guess, but this is one very popular place. Book ahead if at all possible, and...double check that they have received your booking. They do get busy. But once inside, you are treated to a small fixed price menu composed of locally sourced dishes and all cooked fresh in the tiny kitchen. They are very knowledegable about the wine and again take pride in selling only the best. No pizzas or calzone here, only Venetian and they are proud of it. We thought it was wonderful. Judge for yourself.More

Love love love this restaurant. Was down an alley with nothing around and by far was our best meal in Italy. Highlights -value for money -amazing wine -the VIBE was awesome... super local and we sat at the high top table and by 9/10pm place...was packed with locals drinking and having little bites at the ‘bar like’ area. -pasta was a 10/10!!!More

We had dinner for 4 at this lovely restaurant on a Saturday night. We hadn’t booked but they squeezed us in (would recommend booking). Food was really good and reasonable price, very fresh ingredients. Wine was very good (and reasonably priced). Tiramisu was the best...I have had! Lovely staff. Highly recommend.More

Absolutely loved this place. We strolled in around 9PM on a saturday and were lucky to have an open table for two. The space is so cozy and a great atmosphere. The menu is a pre-fixed price for two options with a three-course meal experience...and the food was amazing. We were excited to try local Venetian cuisine and this place didn’t disappoint. The price was extremely reasonable (25 or 35 euro per person depending on the menu selection) and wine as little as 3 euro per glass for excellent quality.More

Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district)
with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many
transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying
areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand
for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal
bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution,
2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli
Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby
