We love this place! They knew our drinks after the first night - New Year's Eve was a gas! Really nice to be welcomed when you walk in and the Spritz are the best around . Go! Really good value too.

We found this little cafe while walking through a maze of Venetian streets. It looked cosy and inviting. And not overly touristy. You can get there espresso for 1 euro and continue your walk with a boost of energy. They also serve pastries, sandwiches. You can also order other drinks, such as wine or freshly squeezed juice.

Seemingly! Actually, they are shut on Sundays. Brilliant late night bar-caffe, good buzzy atmosphere, largely local crowd, the house prosecco is gorgeous, and they mix a mean Aperol spritz. Also coffee and pastries from 7 a.m.

Stumbled across this place when needing a rest after many hours walking through. Great coffee and croissants.....Free Wi Fi. Selection of Pastries in cabinet. Service with a smile the Italian way. English speaking waiter. Could have stayed for hours...

We prepared ourselves for high prices in Venice, we walked whole day and were very suspicious to sit somewhere for coffee. In meantime, we found that the public restroom cost almost as coffee we decided to sit and drink coffee (and go to restroom). Prices are normal, for some coffee with hot chocolate and cream we paid around 3 euros.... More

very friendly waiters, fast service. Good Wifi quality, even outside. Nice terrace in a quiet but very typical small street. Best place for a drink or a sandwich. Not for full dinner.

Out of the hustle and bustle that this the tourist trap of Venice, this little place stands out. Even though I'm no fan of juiced and ground up vegetables (one of their specialities), I enjoyed the lunches we had for several days here. The paninis are great and the salad was excellent. Service was always with a smile.

We stopped on our way to the opera, and again on our way back, it was just too nice and cosy! There's Spritz in all variations, they serve really good open red wines by the glass, and their sandwiches are finger-licking, especially so after you have been following a more than three hours performance of La Traviata in the nearby... We sat outside and had lunch here one day. The salad and sandwich were very good. It was not the cheapest place to have lunch, but not the most expensive either. The cost didn't really matter because It was our favorite salad and sandwich while in Venice. The salad had lots of cheese, tomatoes, and other goodies and the panini... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
