Stayed close by for 5 nights and found this place on the second morning. Went back each morning around 7 AM for rest of our stay. I don't speak Italian and staff didn't really speak English, but no problems and was treated as a regular customer, most of whom walked in and never verbally ordered their food and drink. Very... Quick service and good range of hot and cold drinks with cocktails in evenings too Primarily a place to have a coffee or a beer or and relaxing drink out of the sun although there is food served very few people seemed to be eating on the 2 days we went there. Is in a side street and so quieter... More

Came here several times. Great coffee, reasonable prices based on the 'aperol spritz' economy! Excellent panini, and they DO take cards.

We had just arrived and we're looking for somewhere close to our hotel for refreshment and Caffe Brasilia fitted the bill. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere relaxed - locals use it as well as tourists. After a couple of spritzers and beers we wear suitably quenched. We have been back everyday of our trip and have enjoyed panini... More

The bar does snacks but is mainly a drinks bar. They have a range of well known and obscure Gins. Lino the barman is charming and funny and very attentive.

We loved Caffe' Brasilia. It has a great selection of drinks my favorite was the passion fruit spritz. Lovely and relaxing area to sit outside.

We wandered for a while to find somewhere a little different for a Sunday mid morning breakfast. Situated in a clean smart part of the Academic area this caffe is exactly what you need. The prices are average the coffee very good with out door seating. The food fresh and tasty.

Atmosphere is unique. We had breakfast here twice. The fruit salad is nice but I don't particularly recommend the polpette carne as it tastes like a spam meatball. They don't do decaffeinated coffee but I guess that's Italy really. Also had aperitif in the evening ..."spritz" which is the local Venetian cocktail. Waiters are very cool. Good place to watch... we stopped in here for pre dinner drinks. What a find. It's a cool wee place, with funky decor and great staff. We particularly liked the music playing. Great cocktails and wine. Find it if you can. Looking forward to going back on next trip.

Having been wandering around Venice for hours we came upon this bar in a small alley way and stopped for a drink. We sat outside as the weather was good. The waiter immediately brought out snacks and was very friendly. We enjoyed a couple of drinks that weren't too expensive and listened to the music emanating fro inside. A great... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
