Although it is not easy to find (the shop is in a small dark street nearby the Rialto bridge), this gelateria offers unusual flavours. If you are bored of vanilla, chocolate and strawberry, this is a great place to taste something else. You can try a salted pistachio ice-cream among many other flavours. The staff is also nice!

We had some ice cream, and it was good. But what really rocked was their lemon granita. It had a perfect texture, a great sweetness to sourness balance, and was really refreshing. Actually, it was so good we went back to Venice again the next day just to have some more.

Excellent selection of gelato and most of them kind of unique which you won't find anywhere else. The ones we tried were fresh and real and at least does not seem to contain anything artificial. Myself tried the milk-free ones, which they had five of and that is quite unusual and if you are vegan there were at this time... More

I'm a bit of an ice cream nut so every place I visit I make it a point to try the most recommended ice cream shops. I've tried the "best" shops in Venice, Verona, Cinque Terre, Florence and Rome. Suso is by far the best, do yourself a favor and try them. The staff is lovely and the prices are... More

Not far away from the Rialto bridge, you'll find Suso Gelatoteca. The place is small but the range of flavors is huge!! Though decision to make when you place your order. We had 2 scoops each: manet (pistachio / gianduja) & orange grapefruit / yogurt mango & nocciola. So yummy, so creamy ... really excellent :)

My girlfriend and I have had 13 ice creams over the last 2 weeks exploring the Adriatic Sea. This is by far the best ice cream we have had and maybe ever. So many alternative flavours. Outstanding.

I've tasted several gelatos from firenze, San Gimignano, Roma and now venice and I have to say this place is the best one so far! Their Tango (mango and vanilla) and Fruttoi Di Bosco is superb!

Of the 5 cities in Italy we visited, Venice had the most unimaginative gelato. Except for Suso. This place is well worth seeking out. Unique flavors and combinations, very friendly staff, and overall a fun experience. I had the chocolate lemon and went insane the flavor was so good. I made it a point to make sure we came back... Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
