Mainstay coffee place where the raw beans are freshly roasted in front of your eyes while you sip on a deliciously made espresso, macchiato or cappuccino. Each coffee is made with such concentration and attention that you feel the love for coffee with each sip. A true tribute to the coffee bean and everything which is needed to come to... More

We visited here today on the recommendation of Fred (who we met this morning as our Venice free walking tour guide, and a fellow coffee lover). This place really hits the spot for anybody who likes their coffee! On arrival you'll see empty coffee bags on the doors, in the store and a coffee roaster at the back of the... More

I am not keen on coffe, but for me cappucino was great. And the price of 1.40 per cup is nice too. Try it

This little coffee shop was included in a wonderful "coffee and Venetian sweets" tour so I decided to have my first cup of coffee EVER there. It was strong - had to add milk and sugar - but it was delicious. Might even have another cup sometime. This was a cute little shop with very friendly people working there and... More

This is a lovely artisan coffee roasting house and coffee bar. You can try up to 10 or so different beans to make your coffee or you can go with the house blend either which is smooth with caramel and gentle spice. These people deserve to do very well and I'm sure that they will.

No latte art - just a blob of foam on top (like everywhere else). More foam than steamed milk. Weakish espresso completely overpowered by the milk. However, the price was reasonable at 1.40 euros so you get what you pay for.

We go there following the positive reviews from tripadviser. the taste of the coffee is fantastic. I can not help ordering two cups, one cappuccino and one Viennese. it only took 2.9 euros! but notice the cafe is very small you can only stand at the bar.

The huge grinder greets you as you enter, with bags of beans from around the world. Great coffee, drunk standing up at the bar.

Simply the most amazing coffee, anywhere in the world. Stepping into the store, you are met by wafts of fresh coffee roast. Get to the bar and take a few espresso shots, simply heavenly. Top it with a cappuccino to go and don't miss Nespresso capsules to take with you - each one is packed individually to retain the flavor... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
