Simply the most amazing coffee, anywhere in the world. Stepping into the store, you are met by wafts of fresh coffee roast. Get to the bar and take a few espresso shots, simply heavenly. Top it with a cappuccino to go and don't miss Nespresso capsules to take with you - each one is packed individually to retain the flavor... More

I love coffee, I drink loads of it but never like the coffee's here. Absolutely fantastic. My wife doesn't drink coffee but she had a caramel one which made in front of us was like a mousse. It was delicious. She wanted to keep going back, she doesn't like coffee! I presume it was the coffee she wanted to go... More

Great coffee and espresso-based beverages. Nice atmosphere and excellent service (standing room only, though). Can't beat the price. Would go there again, given the chance.

wonderful coffee in an authentic but no frills setting - coffee served standing up only. Have it as the Italians do. This was the best coffee we had in Venice (and we tried lots of places!)

Both cappuccino and espresso were strong and smooth-went back every day for an espresso. Great service. I do value and love good coffee and this was made with passion and experience.

You have a great reason to cross Cannaregio district: get to Torrefazione Cannaregio. Two guys running this very charming place, showing their passion for coffee by explaining everything about your choice. A must in Venice.

Yes, I was here 3 times for my 2 day stay in Venice. Real espresso, coffee roaster, with employees who clearly take pride in what they do. This is hands down the best coffee I had while in Italy. Simple menu of specialty drinks and everything is SO reasonably priced. They also have beans to go. We bought 5 bags.... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
