This is really not a great food place, we had 2 calzone @€3 which is cheap enough but it was a thick bread a little else, kept us on the road but bland. The ice cream looked pretty average too. Sorry guys!

I've been eating all sorts of gelato and ice-cream for years now but none of them come close to the gelato I've had here. I noticed the chocolate fondant variety mentioned it won an award so I decided to give that (along with 2 others) a try. From the very first lick I could understand why that was a prize... More

So good went back for another one. Simply the best pizza you can get for €4.50 Also had a spinach and ricotta calzone. It was ok but next time will ask for a fresh one or reheat in oven.

We were introduced to this place through a tour guide who said this was an affordable place to eat pizza and gelato. So glad we were shown this great place! We were lucky we had fresh out of the oven pizza which tasted so good. The gelato was the best we had in all of Europe, had it in Rome... More

Cheap but good flavor. Tried the melon & rum 'n raisin gelato. Melon tasted refreshing. Can't go wrong with rum 'n raisin, the balance between the two is just right.

Recently stopped at Gelateria Millefoglie da Tarcisio for a take-away slice of pizza. Sampled the pizza margherita (€1.80). Crust was softer than I like but the taste was surprisingly good, better than expected. It was good enough to go for a second slice (rating 4 of 5). Not sure how the pizza at Gelateria Millefoglie da Tarcisio stacks up against... More

Above average, not quite 'very good', where is the 'good' option trip advisor?! Searched for this place in the dark after finishing dinner at a nearby restaurant - nearly gave up until we just found it on the way back to the hotel! There were about 16ish flavours to choose from (most are the usual). There were no English translations... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
