Pretty average pizza. Request for tomato free still had significant traces of tomato on it (pre-prepared and scrapod?). Very small portion of chips as a side order.

This restaurant called our attention with their attractive price of the lunch menu. However, with service charges, a bottle of water etc the lunch ended up being quite expensive. The food has been only average: my wife order a pizza that was not very tasty. My spaghetti carbonara was cold when the plate reached my table. The scaloppine was a... More

We just chanced upon this restaurant, sat outside and didn't realise there was quite a large restaurant as well. We had authentic Italian food and really enjoyed it. Very reasonable, friendly efficient staff - all in all a very enjoyable experience. and extremely reasonable.

We stopped here after a long march around the canals of Venice. The food quality was below average for Venice. Pizza was basically a warmed up frozen pizza, spaghetti was decent pasta with a canned type of sauce. Host wiped the wet chairs with a wet rag and everything was still wet. Nice patio seating on the canal.

We are in Venice on Saturday night with all places booked to full. Hunting a place to eat. This little place we find in the canal area. They are full but offer us a table inside in the garden area. We take it. A bit apprehensive initially but they surprise us. My son likes pizza - as per him he... More

We randomly picked this pizzeria whilst seeing the sights of Venice. We had the romana and inferno pizzas both of which were very tasty and well cooked, the i ferno could have had more spice but was still tasty, the service was very good and our table overlookef the canal

Came across this little gem while out walking, it was near our hotel & decided to go there for our dinner that evening. It is beside the Grand Canal near the train station. The decor inside is very 50's retro & they have tables outside if you want a canal view. Service was quick & the food arrived quickly. Liked... More

Went here on a fluke after seeing the Rialto Bridge. We were able to get a seat right on the canal next to the Gondola launch which was great to observe; and do; as we did. The appetizer we shared was good and had a great variety. The only issue I had was the waiter didn't seem happy that we... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
