This is the third time I visit Venice and it is the shame I couldn't find this place earlier. I have mussels and clams in marina style as starter. For main course I have spaghetti with seafood and I have to say this is the most delicious one I have ever had. Nice staffs, good service. They earned all the... More

We ate here twice. The first time they forgot us for a while, but they made up for it with great food, reductions in price (we didn't ask) and free shots of limoncello at the end. I appreciated their earnest attempts and we came back our last night. The second time, the service was better. Food still comes out slowly,... More

Visited with daughter on first night of trip. She had lasagne which she said was amazing. I had carbonara which was very nice but was lacking meat. We shared a bruschetta starter which was very nice. Bellinis were perfect. Service was uber efficient. Has a lovely garden behind the restaurant. Definitely recommend.

We are on a 10 day honeymoon in Italy (Rome, Florence, Venice), this was our first dinner in Venice and we regret it. Initial service was fine but things went downhill quick, here are the good and bad: Good: (only reason for more than 1 star) 1) food was generally good, we enjoyed the mussels and gnocci 2) restaurant has... Great food, great prices, great service! The steak was incredible and melted in my mouth. Great wine selection.

Food was very good. That's the good news. On the other hand, the service was horrible. Inattentive and confrontational. Our issue centered on a cheese appetizer we did not finish. Not because it wasn't good as it was very good. It was just too much for two people given we had entrees ordered. Wait staff refused to put in the... More

We have come here twice. It has a great atmosphere, the garden seating is beautiful, food is great! Good prices and friendly staff. Open late and a great place to hang out. Worth the walk.

Came here with my husband during our very brief visit to Venice. Everything was superb, from the service to the food and the location. We ordered the spaghetti with squid ink and the seafood platter, both were great. And reasonably priced. I was particularly happy with the service provided throughout.

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighborhood identity.
