After our free walking tour, we spotted this little gem. The little sharing plates were lovely. Had to try Baccala and the specials. Very accommodating of any special needs. Staff very friendly and cheerful.

We went with an Italian friend who said the veal was just like her mom cooks. All good was excellent and reasonably priced. The pasta was delicious and the grilled octopus was so good!! Service was very friendly and they did great with English.

We have travelled round many European Cities but this was the worst restaurant we have ever been to. The waiter was abrupt and rude ( drinking a glass of wine in between serving) and the spaghetti carbonara tasted as if it had come out of...More

We enjoyed Al Mariner so much when we went, we returned the next night. The food is absolutely delicious, the wine is excellent and the service is extremely friendly. The Seafood risotto was unbelievably tasty and you can even get a Sgroppino here, and if...More

The food here is very simple (fried fish, withe polenta, for example) and the choice of wines is limited. However the prices are similar to those of better restaurants.

We wanted to find a place away from the main streets and came across this pleasant local eatery where the staff are friendly and helpful, the food is simple but good. It was lovely to sit and hear the banter of locals obviously enjoying their...More

We ate dinner here one night when a nearby restaurant we originally intended to go to was full. They were very nice and even made our seafood risotto without calamari on request (my husband doesn't like it) - very good. The scropino for dessert was...More

This restaurant is located in a quiet corner away from the tourist part of Venice. But we love the food here, otherwise we wouldn’t be coming back the third time but was put off with terrible service from a male server whom we’ve never met...More

Good morning, I am the owner and I remember you as you come into my restaurant already alcohol filled. In fact, when my waiter asked you to take some wine with dinner, you refused saying that you had already drunk a short time before (to...More

We were looking for great local seafood and we found it! Our server Mauricio chose a few appetizers and entrees for us to share and he had impeccable taste. Not only was the food amazing and unique to the area but it was also reasonably...More

It is always a good sign when a restaurant is busy with local people either popping in just for a coffee or staying longer for something to eat. This is a good traditional restaurant with canal-side seating, and we had both breakfast and lunch here....More

Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district)
with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many
transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying
areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand
for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal
bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution,
2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli
Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby
