€26 for 2 weak gin & tonics served slowly and with a bad attitude along few a few bits of stale toast. Just insulting. Total turnoff. Would never consider going back for a meal despite it being conveniently located for us.

This restaurant was close to our hotel and we thought it would be a nice place to stop by for an ice-cream and a glass of wine. On BOTH occasions (we thought we may have caught the waiter on an off night so decided to give the restaurant a second chance) the staff were extremely rude and not welcoming at... More

Stopped here for a snack and drinks came away 45 euros out of pocket. Service atrocious food took forever and for panini subjected to dry supermarket bread with filling dumped in. Cappuccino took 20 minutes was cold and cost a princely 10 euros. Yes, indeed this was the bill for 3 panini 2 beers 2 coffees and a pineapple juice.... More

Stopped hear for a couple of drinks and some lunch. The waiter was incredibly rude. We asked for 2 drinks and the food menu. He appeared with drinks only. Shrugged us off when we asked for menu but abruptly asked for his €10 (for two cans of cheap lemonade!) A couple sat down next to us and we're told 'NO!'... More

Here on Passion Sunday. Very average food and pretty expensive for the snacks we had. If you are passing and you want something to re fuel that's fine otherwise walk on. You will find better.

Location of this pizzeria is good on the piazza but the pizza was just "okay" and the bill was high including a mysterious 12.5% "service charge". We were hungry and new to Venice so popped in here...

As sad as that... Pizzas with tomato and cheese were literally taken out of their cardboard packages, added an ingredient and put in the oven. Rather go to a supermarket and warm it up in a microwave.

We ate here after a long day of touring, found it after our first choice was closed. Ordered two pizzas for the three of us to share and it was plenty of food. Not highly seasoned, or made like American pizza....as long as you know that European pizza is not the thick, cheese and oil laden, fatty American version you... More

Tall waiter inattentive and bored. Paste below average and overcooked. Ended up leaving most of it. Sat looking at the remains while waiter smoked nearby.

Solda is a small cafe which has a large set of outside table space. Meals were reasonable price and quantity, however the quality is Cafe rather than restaurant, take care with drinks as they are quite pricey, beer was €7 a glass and coke €4 a can. We would use the cafe again.

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
