Visited here for my wife's 40th Birthday meal on Friday 16th September 2016. Wonderful food, service and wine. Highly recommend it.

We had a most delicious meal here, to celebrate our first anniversary and wanted something a little different. The meal was delightful and great fun! Each course was brought to us as we finished the previous, there was no rushing us and we spent our time enjoying the great wine and food. We would most definitely return here next time... More

Checked the menu the night before, I was determined to order the seafood pasta served in a large spaghetti plate. However upon arrival, I noticed tables had ordered the lobster with pasta which we were informed was the special for the night. Ordered the Lobster pasta and had absolutely no regrets. My only regret is that were were leaving the... More

This restaurant is great! We ate here on our first night in Venice. We had the seafood pasta which was magnificent. We watched a neighboring table eat a whole fish. It looked so good that we returned the next night to eat that. Adrianna promised she would have it ready for us and she delivered! She also made us a... More

Our hotel suggested this restaurant for dinner. They told us it was difficult to find. It was, but were we surprised. About 30 seats inside and another 20 outside. The food was exceptional. We ordered the Mediterranean Sea Bass for 2. It came with vegetables and potatoes and the owner cleaned and de-boned the fish at our table. She then... More

Great food and lovely staff. A bit slow to react and give us our drinks/bill, but otherwise perfect. The dessert, tiramisu, was the best tasting dish I had in all of Venice. Would really recommend a visit.

I can not recommend this little restaurant enough to anyone who visits Venice. Its a little hard to find but luckily we found a local who walked us to the restaurant. The food was exceptional and we could not fault the service either. We didn't book but to be on the safe side I would next time. Its off the... More

Had a fantastic meal here overseen by the enthusiastic front of house guy. Our food was bautifully cooked and presented. A really great place tucked down an alley just of a main street.

Really good but not without its flaws. We ordered the tasting menu for 2 which came with wine pairings for 50 euros per person. Delicious tapas but second course arrived prior to tapas being finished. Service seemed somewhat rushed but friendly. Flavors of almost all dishes were well balanced. Zucchini crusted sea bass was slightly overwhelmed by saltiness of "crosrtaceus... More

Wonderful gem hidden off the beaten path. Great seafood and pasta dishes. Wonderful and very attentive service ( not always easy to find in Venice)

Right in the heart of Venice, between Santa Lucia train station and the Rialto Bridge, and just a few steps away from the Casino, you will find a restaurant where we have translated our welcoming philosophy into a concrete culinary experience: "La Colombina".
There are numberless reasons to visit and revisit Venice, but now you can add one more: "La Colombina", a gastronomic experience inspired by tradition but also focused on contemporaneity. In short, a new "classic" ranging from traditional Venetian dishes to unique gourmet temptations going from aperitifs to lunches and special occasions.
How to reach us:
It's incredibly simple! From Piazzale Roma or the Santa Lucia train station follow the main street (Strada Nova) towards Ponte di Rialto (take a left when exiting the train station). In the "calle" (small street) just in front of the "Teatro Italia" you will find La Colombina. We are only 10 minutes away from the central station, just a few steps from the Casino and 10 minutes from the Rialto Bridge. La Colombina is also conveniently adjacent to a "Vaporetto" stop (San Marcuola, Linea 1) and is centrally located and ideally very close to Venice's main attractions.

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
