Excellent food and service. We were not able to sit outside because of the weather, but the dinning room is magic.Special mention to the Hemingway risotto! We will definitely be coming back in our next trip to Venice!

I booked a table for dinner as I was already staying at the hotel. The setting is the best in Venice - terrace on the Grand Canal looking across to the church Tables are beautifully set with fine linens and candles making for a lovely atmosphere and ambience. Waiting staff are attentive and professional. The food was delicious and very... More

After my partner arranged a surprised dinner we turned up at the Club Doge Restaurant. Firstly we order drinks and our water bottle was taken away, during the evening had not refilled our glasses and the water sat on their sideboard until 5 mins before we left. We ordered our entrees which mine turned up warm, that was the ravioli.... More

We had lunch at Club del Doge restaurant. You really have a lovely view from their terrasse, probably one of the nicest views at Canale Grande. For sure they have their prices up because you pay indirectly for the setting and location (as you do at a lot of venetian places of course). But I still think it is overpriced.... More

Was recommended to go to the Doge by our hotel for my girlfriends birthday. It was a cold evening and there was no offer to seat us in the restaurant that was empty. Our starter was cold and we ordered a whole salt baked fish for main that came up just grilled. When we complained we were told have this... More

We had a long lunch here and overall the experience was very good, although really quite expensive. But we knew that before we started, and the idea was for a special birthday celebration, so the cost and poshness were definitely part of the plan. After an initial wobble, the service was very good, attentive, well-timed, courteous and competent. Good advice... More

We were staying at the Gritti Palace, so this was our most convenient dining option. We had one dinner and one breakfast. The food was what you might expect from a five star establishment for both meals and did not disappoint. The breakfast was a buffet with some options made to order, as such, it was a bit more difficult... More

We went to Club del Doge for our last meal in Venice. Planning on a wonderful last lunch before flying back. The entrance at Gritti is wonderful and the terrace has one of the best views in Venice; simply outstanding. However, our Spritz did not arrive quickly and we had to send them back. Second batch was less than average.... More

We wanted to eat somewhere special on the last evening of our two-week Europe trip and were very glad to have chosen the Club del Doge. It’s pricey, but you’re mostly paying for the gorgeous ambiance. We weren’t seated right along the edge of the patio, but all the tables outside have an excellent view of the Grand Canal. Service... A fresh tribute to Venetian cuisine, Restaurant Club del Doge welcomes guests in an intimate and elegant setting, which moves outdoors onto its Grand Canal Terrace from April until October. The atmosphere is casual chic by day and a more formal affair in the evenings. At its helm, Executive Chef Daniele Turco will tantalize your senses with epicurean delights that celebrate the best of local seasonal ingredients, from signature risottos to traditional cicchetti and seafood platters.

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
