We were looking for a place to watch American NFL football while on vacation in Venice (I could not miss the Cowboys!). Our hotel suggested to try the Devil's Pub. Great place! We even had Eagles fans buying us drinks! Great crowd mix of tourists and locals. The Black and Tans were filled perfectly. The food was also very good.... More

Atmosphere, beer, great service, busy, friendly, welcome:) that's best words to describe Devils Forest Pub! In our 4 day trip to Venice we were back there every evening! Definitely worth to visit and our favourite!

Just a street away from the rialto bridge. Great drinks and staff. Only criticism would be the toilets, they are particularly bad with no toilet seats. A little investment in the toilets and the hand washing facilities and this would be a greta little place. 6 EUR for a glass of presecco and red wine, 10EUR for grey goose voddie... More

This really sounds like a first world problem but after nearly two weeks of traipsing round Italy, we were in need of something other than pizza or pasta or anything ragu-based. I googled this and we ended up going there twice in three days. Really good atmosphere even tho one night there was footie on - but basically it is... More

Initially visited this place as it was close to our hotel and we wanted to kill some time whilst we waited for our check in time. Great pub atmosphere, the walls and bar are decorated with jokes and quirky messages which keeps you amused. They also have a webcam which we used to wave to some people back home. Drinks... More

Went there twice when we were in Venice. First time had a burger of all things, in Venice. The John Wayne Burger, and it was delicious. I had Jack Daniels, and it was priced higher than most any other bar in our places we visited in Italy. It was a measured (push button) pour. I think it covered 1 ice... More

I found this on tripadvisor while looking for a not so preppy cool little bar with great service and voila! Found the perfect one. The bartender speaks Spanish, French, English and Italian which made it perfect and even got a shirt for my husband of the oldest pub in Venice! Perfection!

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
