great value drinks for italy. opens late unlike other places... even in weekdays! however not somewhere I would go if you want to experience italian culture.... the pub looks like something in england... even plays english football! so if you're a lad and out in venice with guys then probably the perfect place for you.

Went there twice when we were in Venice. First time had a burger of all things, in Venice. The John Wayne Burger, and it was delicious. I had Jack Daniels, and it was priced higher than most any other bar in our places we visited in Italy. It was a measured (push button) pour. I think it covered 1 ice... More

I found this on tripadvisor while looking for a not so preppy cool little bar with great service and voila! Found the perfect one. The bartender speaks Spanish, French, English and Italian which made it perfect and even got a shirt for my husband of the oldest pub in Venice! Perfection!

From the moment you walk in the staff are friendly and speak good English. Quaint little pub in a alley, away from the chaos of the Rialto bridge. It is quite busy during the lunch rush though, they will tell you if there is a wait for food, which is good. After the madness of a busy day, it's a... More

...and its in Venice, neatly combining a couple of things I really like. Great location by the Rialto, and some good beverages on tap. I actually had a decent toastie here once as well. Did I mention wifi? Prices were OK as well.

Nice English pub. Regular pub food, burger was preprept and came out quickly. You get what you can expect from a English pub.

Highly recommend, staff was friendly. Bartender made us a shot he called "The Undertaker" after we asked for something strong. Great environment different then most bars you'll come across in Venice.

Enjoyed a quick bite at mid-day, and found this to be a great break from the San Marco Square madness. My pasta of the day was very, very good. We enjoyed a couple of glasses of wine with our lunch, chatted with a few locals and were completely refreshed.

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
