We had one dinner and one lunch here in September 2018, and both were superb. Just a stones throw from the heavily photographed Chiesa di Santa Maria Maddalena and the tourist choked bridge of Ria Tera de la Maddalena, this small local gem is run...More

Wow. Food was absolutely fantastic. A little gem. Menu iwas not huge and all the better for it. Everything we tried from the scallops to black ink spaghetti to desert wines was spot on. A really memorable evening.

Lovely location on a canal but what sets this place apart is the care with which the food is prepared. From the antipasti through seafood and meat mains, the food was very tasty, fresh, interesting and well prepared. Great mix of traditional Venetian food with...More

We went to al Cantinon, following the recommendation of the owner of the bar where we had aperitivo. Because I travel with my dog, whether he is welcome or not is always the first concern. In Italy people tend to be dog friendly and that...More

Without a doubt the loveliest little restaurant in Venice. If me and my partner ever find ourselves there again this will be our first stop. The Black spaghetti was amazing.

Try to get a table out at the canal. The black pasta with shrimp and saffron is highly recommended. Thank you for your great service!

Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district)
with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many
transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying
areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand
for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal
bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution,
2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli
Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby

Turn left when you're just out of the train station. Take the main road (lista di spagna - strada nova) and keep going for around 12 minutes. Turn right just before the third bridge you encounter. That's campo della maddalena
