On a busy Saturday night, it was the only place with tables available. Nice atmosphere. I had a grilled branzino which was very tasty. 1 had fried seafood with chips, another had bolognese, 1 had octopus salad and another had the chef’s pasta. Everybody enjoyed...More

The place is small and there is little distance between the tables. Dining room in the back less noisy. Food is correct, but with little choices. Prices in the average for Venice, less than in more touristic areas.

Past San Marco, along the Riva towards the "tail of the fish" are some quieter neighborhoods where we found Il Nuovo Galeon where seasoned waiters beckoned us to a table outside. Locals and tourists filled the tables on a sunny Saturday while local kids kicked...More

Very good food in a quaint setting decorated with a boat (yes, an actual boat-shaped bar). Quirky, friendly staff make it an unforgettable experience.

Not a good experience, indeed the worst we have ever had at a restaurant. It would have been funny if  it wasn't so bad?.The man who waited on us (an older guy with kind of colourful glasses )was so rude:he rushed us,ignored one us completely...More

A short wander from main tourist drag so a welcome reprieve. Friendly staff (who seem to speak every language!) made for a welcoming meal. Little bit of up-selling but delivered with Italian charm & humour. Food good, wine decent & nice ambiance. We'd recommend.

We were referred to this restaurant by some locals and we enjoyed it tremendously. Our waiter, Sergio, chose the menue for us (silver crab served in a tin can (more hygienic then the the shell they used to serve it in), a tris of polenta...More

We stumbled across Il Nuovo Galeon when looking for a place to eat with my parents. There were no tables outside so we decided to eat inside, and we were so glad we did. The decor is lovely, the staff professional and courteous. And as...More

A friend and I strolled in one Sunday evening on speck. The first course of prosciutto melone was excellent. When the starter had been cleared our table was suddenly struck with a great quantity of bird droppings. I asked to be moved, and was met...More

Hello Gail, for sure they have pasta dishes, as my fellow traveller had a very nice pasta dish. To be honest I don't remember seeing pizza on the menu. I can only tell you that we had excellent fish and meat dishes on both... More

Google maps show it in two places: part way down Calle San Domenego (wrong) and - if you do a search for the restaurant by name - Via Giuseppe Garibaldi (correct).
