I ate at this restaurant twice. My hotel had recommended it --they said the food was great and the service friendly; they would take great care of me there. This was true the first night I ate there. The server was a young man who switched between several languages easily, took great pride in the food he served, and wanted... More

We've checked the TripAdvisor recommendations in the area of our hotel and have found this nice restaurant. It was a romantic dinner, the waiter was helpful, attentive and friendly. We ordered a typical antipasti plate, Spaghetti Vongole,Canneloni and desserts. We skipped the secondi dishes. We paid 50 € per person which is fair for Venice.

We received such a warm and friendly welcome at this restaurant. The waiter was lovely and even helped me with my Italian when I was ordering. The food was well presented and tasted fantastic. The service was excellent throughout the evening. Highly recommend!

Went for dinner on a Saturday night. A small restaurant, it was very full, but they found us a table for an hours time so we went to have a drink nearby and our table was ready when we returned. Food was very good but not exceptional. My mixed cheese starter was tasty and Paul loved his octopus and celery... More

My husband and I visited on our last night in Venice. Emmanuel, our server, made the night. He greeted us in English and easily handled other guests in French and Italian. The food was very, very good. We started with a mixed meat and cheese plate. I had spinach cannolini and my husband, the lobster ravioli. Everything was perfect! A... More

We went for dinner here on our last evening in Venice and it was a delightful experience. The lobster ravioli was to die for and then I had the chicken with truffle which was very tasty. It's lovely small & cute little restaurant and the waiter was very charming. Highly recommended - a lovely end to our holiday!

I was here with my Dad and we were pulled in by the delicious aroma coming out of the restaurant as we walked by around lunchtime. After braving through the human masse of tourists at San Marco, we were very happy to find a table without reservation at Osteria ae Spezie. You could tell instantly it was going to be... More

We found this gem through TripAdvisor and decided to give it a try. Our server was really friendly and very helpful in suggesting our meals and wine. The food was so delicious! We recommended this place to a couple at our hotel and they were very pleased with the food too. You won't be disappointed, I promise. Thank you Osteria... More

This is great restaurant. The food is exceptional and the setting is wonderful. I recommend it highly if you are in the general area because it is located away from the touristy areas. We just happen stay at Hotel Bisanzio which is about a 7 minutes walking distance

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
