This lovely little ostaria made my five-day Venice trip beyond superb. A mixed platter of Venetian seafood and porcini pasta were OMG So GOOD with Prosecco and Cabernet Franc. Can't help but eat so much and order a sweet chocolate pastry with a Cappuccino. So full and so satisfied. It was a cosy small space for few seats and I... More

We went there due to the reviews of Trip Advisor. Foods were delicious even for a person who is not interested much in Western food like me. I think in a famous city like Venice, the prices are very affordable. The female staff is so willing to help although she cannot speak English much. Other people in the restaurant look... More

Genuine and very tasty food. Seems that the local people were there too i.e real Italian food not what you´ll get served on St Marcus place. Like the places I´ve only seen on TV, warm welcoming, the staff seems to recognize the costumers, conversations between the tables, etc.

This is my 1st Trip Advisor review. I was compelled to write this as our visit for Spritz & food was the highlight of our stay in Venice. We happened upon the bar & restaurant when we walked from our hotel to a recommended restaurant nearer the hospital. We had 30 minutes to kill & had Aperol Spritz stood by... More

We randomly found this place and decided to stop by on our last night in Venice. We are all about seeing the local side of things and once we saw people sitting alongside the canal drinking wine we knew that we had to stop by. The staff was extremely friendly and the service was great. Not to mention the pasta... More

In a small unassuming place in Venice is a place with its specific athmosphere and really kind and friendly people. Don't expect one of these big tourist restaurants! We ordered pasta with porcini and tiramisu. Both was really great and especially pasta was simply amazing! I really recommend this place :)

We shared the Tuna Carpaccio and the Ricotta and Spinach Cannelloni - both were delicious and unlike anything we've eaten before. It was great to taste some real Venetian food as its so easy to get trapped by the touristy restaurants. The price was very reasonable and the wine and beers were great. We'd definitely go again!

We braved a very bad thunderstorm to come eat here based on the reviews we had read. All I have to say is that it is definitely not worth it. The food was overpriced and not very good. My husband ordered a beef dish that came out looking like beef carpaccio and my meal was small and overpriced. I would... More

A little treasure in the center of Venice. Don't expect the typical tourist menu: here the food is authentic. We tried the carbonara and the parmigiana (eggplant with mozzarella and ragú). Delicious! Very recommended.

We didn't expect much from the facade, but the owner and food was excellent and beyond. Real authentic Venezian food, locally produced and tasted like homemade. Only main courses and desserts, but no more was needed. People were even stopping by for a glass, served by the canal. Such a local feeling! We will definitely come back

Description
Tipical local osteria run by young minded guys. Turists can find a place where to chill out close to the locals or have a meeting or a romantic place for eating close to the channel and having a good glass of wine. Local cusine and good wines, tasty home made cakes, fish and sea food, cheeses and hams selection, nice mix salads and more! Buon appetito!!!

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
