We visited this restaurant two nights running and intend to go at least once again before we leave. Excellent service, excellent wine, amazing food and they served us outside in November because that's where we wanted to sit. Perfect ❤️

We, six adults, visited this restaurant but were disappointed with the service. We were taken to our table but waited quite a while for dinner. There seemed to be only one waiter handling two floors that seemed not to be rushed while chatting with other patrons. After a mediocre dinner, we only received our check after waiting quite a while,... More

Ask anyone who knows Venice and they tell you that to get great food you need to go away from the Grand Canal. Carpaccio is one of those exceptions. A sister restaurant to Osteria ae Spezie, it is located on the quitter side of the main drag of the Grand Canal. Great food and service is what you can expect.... More

My husband and I went here for dinner. We had an incredible bottle of wine and the best carpaccio ever! We had a fish for dinner which we got to choose before it was prepared. Staff was incredibly friendly and spoke English well. This was the best meal in Venice. If you dine here get the carpaccio!!

Small but friendly restaurant on the waterfront serving mainly fish dishes. Pleasant but not outstanding food but the atmosphere was a relief after the stuffiness of the self-important waterfront hotels. Quite expensive, especially if you choose the more adventurous wines.

Ideal location for dinner in Venice, traditional atmosphere and welcoming staff. Lovely Murano glass candle holders on tables. Not really impressed with the food quality. We went for a set menu, however the food was not as we expected. Simple menu and generous portions but missing that special hint typical of the venetian cuisine. Superb the wine although expensive.

This restaurant was my favorite while in Venice. We had our first Italian meal here. I could not believe the difference between real Italian food and what we eat in USA. all ingredients are fresh and tasty. Great wine selections! We had the branzino, Melon and prosciutto.. Rosario and his team of servers were very helpful and amazing! the Tiramisu... More

Nice location and looks good on the way in. The wine list was expensive, but with a few cheaper bottles, so we took one of those and it was pretty good. The evening went downhill after that. Stodgy filled mussel gratin which was not a gratin, but a polenta and tinned tomato, mussel stew. Cold grilled sardines, which were ok,... More

We were welcomed by a charming host, who managed to find a table for us. We sat on the terrace, within view of the lagoon. Being fairly central, it was refreshing to find this white tablecloth and napkins restaurant where so many in the surrounding areas are catering for the tourist with pasta and pizza. Here was a gourmet restaurant... More

Ristorante Carpaccio is an excellent restaurant on the southern coast of Venice near Castello. The service was good. The food was extremely good. They serve your water in beautiful Murano glasses and have a very nice outdoor seating area as well as a second floor for larger groups.

The three members Gino, Rosario, Diego welcome to Carpaccio Restaurant, where the experience of years in the world of ristoranzione, was fulfilled in the passion of cooking and of 'hospitality. Located on the Riva degli Schiavoni, opposite the island of San Giorgio, only ten minutes walk from Piazza San Marco. Access to the restaurant via water taxi and / or gondola, as provided Riva. We have a total capacity of about 120 seats during the summer. Room on the First Floor with a maximum capacity of 60 seats with exclusive views of the entire basin of San Marco, suitable for banquets, weddings, business dinners. The outdoor terrace overlooking the Riva with the possibility of a capacity of about 30 seats. Accesso_disabiliIl restaurant has a ramp for the disabled ii. Our forte is the cuisine of Venice, Veneto and international. Rich menu of meat and fish with a large wine list. As the name of the restaurant our specialties are the carpaccio of meat and fish, we are waiting.

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
