We stopped here for a late night dinner and the staff were very accommodating even though we were clearly their last customers for the night. Our waiter was helpful with explaining different menu items and we both settled on pasta dishes. Fresh ingredients and melt in your mouth pasta made for a great experience overall. Definitely recommend.

We chose the restaurant, because it claims to be gluten free. It does have gluten free pasta, but no gluten free bread, which is a shame (e.g. to go with a Prosciutto plate). The fish was swimming in oil, the granish hardly existed and the pasta bolognese was average at best. Considering that we paid 80 EUR (with 2 glasses... More

You can't beat the location of this restaurant. Our table for two was alongside a small canal. Beautifully appointed, excellent service and an interesting menu with a good sampling of traditional Venezian dishes. The restaurant is slightly away from the crowds populating San Marco which adds to its charm.

Between the tourist traps of Venice is this little gem along the waterfront. Authentic great food with warm efficient service led by Massimo. Ate there twice and the staff and ambience never failed to impress. Meals were delicious! Don't complain about the prices, they are all on the menu! Worth paying more for fresh delicious food. Can't live on cheap... More

We were a group of 10 and came on the recommendation from our hotel. Nice location right by on of the bridges on the canal. I don't think anyone has a great meal. It was average at best...the bread was probably the best (along with the wine). With so many options in Venice pick another restaurant.

Very easy to find right by the bridge at the East End of Riva deli Schiavoni, this restaurant has wonderful Italian seafood. The scallops au gratin was simply delicious. A very nice wine selection and lobster spaghetti!! Make sure to stop by for dinner. Dining on the second floor is very nice in the evening to share a view of... More

The restaurant sits in a very nice location alongside a bridge on the grand canal. We were luck to get a table for two on the side canal near the bridge. We ordered a seafood platter appetizer and seafood risotto for our first course Per the friendly waiter's recommendation, my wife changed her second course choice from beef to a... More

The staff at our hotel recommended this restaurant as a step up to family dining choice while we were in Venice. Our order was simple shaghetti with tomato and bsail. The noodles were undercooked and when I asked the owner he wanted to argue that is the way they should be cooked. After finally offering to take it back I... More

We came here on the recommendation of our hotel concierge. We were told the place is owned by a Sicilian family, who have been in Venice for years. The restaurant itself is maybe a 10 minute walk from St. Marco Plaza, which is nice if the weather is good. The restaurant itself has a small outdoor seating area on the... More

The three members Gino, Rosario, Diego welcome to Carpaccio Restaurant, where the experience of years in the world of ristoranzione, was fulfilled in the passion of cooking and of 'hospitality. Located on the Riva degli Schiavoni, opposite the island of San Giorgio, only ten minutes walk from Piazza San Marco. Access to the restaurant via water taxi and / or gondola, as provided Riva. We have a total capacity of about 120 seats during the summer. Room on the First Floor with a maximum capacity of 60 seats with exclusive views of the entire basin of San Marco, suitable for banquets, weddings, business dinners. The outdoor terrace overlooking the Riva with the possibility of a capacity of about 30 seats. Accesso_disabiliIl restaurant has a ramp for the disabled ii. Our forte is the cuisine of Venice, Veneto and international. Rich menu of meat and fish with a large wine list. As the name of the restaurant our specialties are the carpaccio of meat and fish, we are waiting.

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
