I've been bringing groups to Venice for a few years now, and I always bring my groups to Mille Voglie on the way in to the city! It's a hell of a good deal! for 5EUR you can get a slice or pizza, a drink (including beer), and 2 scoops of gelato. The pizza is fantastic, but the gelato is... More

We ordered a slice of sausage pizza, ham and cheese calzone and gelato. Good choice of gelato and the pizzas were loaded with toppings when we were there. The calzone was ok, not bad but I've had better. I would come back here, they do meal deals €4+ .

We ordered calzones for take away. The food was average but the service was below average. While some of the staff were friendly, one of the staff yelled at us for asking a question and walked away. We also had our food heated by the same staff member when we asked for it not to be heated (take away). One... More

Over the 3 days we were in Venice, we tasted many shops gelatos and this was by far the best!! Creamy, flavorful and a fantastic homemade texture. The dark chocolate was the best I've ever tasted!! Do not skip if you are in Venice!!

We stumbled across this place whilst getting lost in Venice. They serve fantastic pizza by the slice. We had margarita and pepperoni which were some of the nicest pizza we had in Italy - so good we went twice in one day. They also sell ice cream which we also had and was really nice. Definitely worth a visit.

This gelato was very good. It was soft enough and it was flavourful enough but it is a full notch below the best in Venice. If you end up at Mille Voglie, I would recommend the blueberry.

Walked by on our way back to hotel and got a few slices for lunch. It was so good and affordable we decided to go again on our last night in Venice as a quick dinner. Fast service. Friendly staff. Great prices. Most slices of pizza were 2 euro or less and Coca Cola was 1 euro. Grab a few... More

Mille Voglie, on the main walking route from Piazzale Roma to the Ponte di Rialto, close to Scuola di San Rocco, consists of a ice cream counter and a counter where you can get a pizza slice. Go for the ice cream. It is home made and a selection of delicious flavours is available. I always stop there for an... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
