This is a must to catch up with the owners who have become friends over the years. We called on their last day before closure for a refurbishment and holidays for a month. Passed daily and the work is looking good. Can't wait for our return to Venice August 22 when the bar also re opens Missed their wonderful snacks.... More

After the deception of a visit at Harry's dolci across the canal we ended up here tasting wonderful Amarone wines and having fresh tapas italian style. Very friendly host and familystyle reception. Don't expect luxury but nice drinks and food at a very reasonable price. The visit was not in august but in june but I did not write a... More

Popped in here for fantastic cicchetti. For the uninitiated they are like Italian tapas. A great way to taste Venezia. Pop in, look at the foods that appeal to you in the case, pick them out. Pay, Eat at the bar. Repeat until satisfied. Walk away happy. Here you get wonderful food, at great prices. I hope you love Venezia and... More

This a nice little authentic place on a small canal in dorsoduro for a drink or two, together with some tasty chicchetis (the choice is huge and very varied). Plenty of locals there as well, which is always a good sign, and very reasonably priced (for example: two glasses of wine, two glasses of water and 6 chicchetis for eur... More

This place was super easy to fine, we used the vaporetto to travel from Palanca in Giudecca to Zattere and then meandered from here to the corner and on down the road until we saw the green awning. True, the prices were reasonable at 1.20 per "snack" and it could have been just us but we weren't really impressed with... More

One of the historical wine shops in Venice. Very nice to go for an appetizer. Great choise of 'cicheti', sorts of canapè, tidbit or finger food to taste with local wines

We were looking really forward to going here but sadly it was a bit disappointing. The place was quite unfriendly maybe because we were not local. The man serving us just seemed irritated when we asked what were in the cicchetti. Even the "mami" who makes the cicchetti when we said hello kind of just ignored us. The cicchetti itself... More

I used to go to this place very often when i was a student in Venice. It's frequented by locals. They have a good selection of cicchetti (type of snacks) which are very fresh and delicious. I reccomand the baccala one and you should taste their fragolino which is a type of sweet wine.

This is quite simply the best way to enjoy cicchetti and wine in Venice at incredibly low prices. We found the place in November and have just visited again - great sitting outside along the canal with a selection of the finest Venetian snacks accompanied by decent few glasses of quality Italian wine - and Prosecco for the girls of... Thanks to other Trip Advisors for recommending this place. Our last day in Venice, we went bar hopping through several neighborhoods instead of standing in lines at tourist attractions. What fun! And we started off with this place in elegant Dorsoduro along a small canal. Our bartended (sorry, can't remember his name) was friendly and helped us select wines. He's... More

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
