This packed bar is a great place to stop for a while when in Dorsoduro. The array of bottles provide an interesting and attractive decor. Service is slick. The cicchetti are varied and delicious. All are freshly made and are inexpensive. There is no seating but there are counters inside the bar and the canal wall on the outside. There... More

A perfect place for a short break while exploring Venice. A wide selection of cicchetti and wines. We stopped by at least 3-4 times while we visited the city.

The name is confusing. I know it as al Bettegon. Just make sure you walk past the other cicchetti place and come here. Smoked octopus. Ikura on ribolita. Tuna and leeks. I dream of this every day at 5pm. Take a peek at the gondola repair shop on the same street.

Delicious offerings, 1 Euro each, to eat in the standing bar or take out and enjoy by the water. Fresh and interesting selection for a perfect stop on a Cicchetti Tour through Venice!

I came to this place in between museum-visits in the area. I needed a quick bite. This place not only met my needs for refueling but also offered an fun way to each. On top of that the cicchetti are light, flavorful and pretty to look at. This is rather a wine store than a restaurant. But at lunch time,... More

We came across this great bar by accident. Went in as we thought it was a wine shop which it is, but also a great bar. Food and drinks are great, with great service a must stop off.

This is a must-visit Venetian destination. What looks like just a liquor store actually sells some of the most delicious food in the city. Cicchetti (basically different kinds of spreads on soft and bite-sized pieces of bread) is the speciality of this eatery and drinkery, with locals consistently popping in-and-out. With not much room to spare, there are no sit-down... More

Lovely Ciccheti bar, a must for anyone visiting Venice, I'd say this is our favourite place to eat in Venice.

I am loathe to give this restaurant a good review because it might become more crowded than it is. There is no seating but they have the most delicious slices of Baguette with different toppings, each one a burst of tastes.

My husband and I had two nights in Venice and our hotel recommended this place for great tapas and drinks. They serve small bite sized creations that are out of this world. Very flavorful! We went our first night in Venice and tried each one with two glasses of red wine for only €17. Liked it so much we stopped... More

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
