5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed yesterday NEW

Visited last week after a recommendation and was not disappointed. Amazing choice of food and wine, reasonably priced. Lovely atmosphere and efficient staff with lovely views. Had three glasses of wine with food, some inside some outside. Bought wine to take out, lovely and well priced. Go - you will not be disappointed!

We loved this place and ate and drank here twice, if i lived in Venice then this would be my local day time eatery and watering hole. staff friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, choice of Valpolicella Ripasso by the glass and a great place to pick up a bottle for your room or to take home. Staff recommendation for the wines... More

We visited here twice on our short visit to Venice. It was recommended to us by Francesco our wonderful guide from JM Walking Tours. The food was fresh and original (to me), with a great selection of wines by the glass to accompany it. We bought wine to take back to our hotel, recommended by our helpful server. This was... More

be sure to ask for a glass of Fragolino - local strawberry wine which can only be found in Venice - we always take as much home as you are allowed to bring into the US - but it doesn't age. In the most wonderful part of dorsoduro - with less tourists and quite near the gondola repair shop. Enjoy... More

This is essentially a wine shop but sells snifters of drinks and cicchetti (Venetian snacks) for a very reasonable price. No loo and you have to stand up but the food is truly excellent. We loved the egg mayo baguette slice with edible flower petals and mortadella/pickled pepper combo. Usually packed so must be good!

We stumbled on this place while wandering through Dorsoduro on the last day of my stay in Venice. They have a wide selection of cichetti at around 1.5 euros a piece. My favorites were the chicory/radiccio, the pesto with cheese, and the strawberry. What made the visit special was that the owner paid special attention to my friends' 5-year old... More

My wife and I visited this temple of wine and cichetti 3 times during our recent stay in Venice. Located near the Academia Bridge and the Peggy Guggenheim Museum, this lovely cantine is the perfect stop for brilliant cichetti and a glass or two of well selected wine for a late breakfast, a light lunch or a mid-meal snack. A... More

Best cicchetti we had in Venice by far. You only have to witness the number of locals eating here of a lunchtime to know that it must be good and it most certainly is. Where else can you join so many friendly Venetians, all standing shoulder to shoulder inside a traditional bar lined with- rows of exquisite wines whilst you... More

You can find better bar in Venice. The food is cheap but not very good. Service is not that friendly. Not recommended.

For 1.5 euros each everything was worth it! Love the anchovies, cod, meatloaf, octopus and many more! It goes well with wine! Dine in standing up adds to the fun of tapas bars! One had to be quick with orders since it gets crowded too quick.

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
