Lovely garden setting. Reasonably priced. My husband had the grilled seafood, which was 2 fish and prawns. I had the gnocchi bolognese. Both dishes were delicious. The fish was lightly seasoned to let the flavor of the food come through. The gnocchi was light and tasty. Our waiter was as attentive as possible, as the restaurant went from half to completely full within perhaps 20 min. The staff did their very best. We relaxed and enjoyed our drinks and the garden. I would go back.

Staff was very friendly, speaks some, but little, English. Prices are good, but there is a 13% service charge that you don’t find out until the end. I had the mixed salad, balsamic vinegar, no oil, was all that was offered for dressing. Lasagna was good sized and tasty, my husband’s spaghetti with seafood was delicious. We paid with card but did have to go to the office because the machine was plugged in the office.

We stopped here tor a quick lunch en route to check in at our apartment. Reasonably priced but very average pizza. We sat in the garden that was full of tourists but when I went to the restroom I saw the very nice dining room in the back that seemed more local. Courteous but very relaxed service.

We were seated on a table full of dirty cups and breadsticks. The service was very slow and it took them a very long time to get the right order Despite us ordering in Italian. The food was very average nothing to write home about - we had the pizza. We were then charged ‘cover charge’ for napkins which we had to wait for and the table wasn’t set when we arrived so we were very disappointed by this.

The first impression of this restaurant was not bad as it is in a small nice garden. Compared with other restaurants we walked by at noon with the temperature of almost 30'c, it was certainly attracting us to walk in.
The food were within the expectation in the touristic city. But the big disappointment is that we could not pay by a credit card. The waiter asked us to withdraw money from an ATM machine that stands in the restaurant!!!! Obviously this is a very "clever" business case. The restaurant doesn't need to pay any handling fee to a credit card company and at the same time it can get commission from the ATM machine operator. It was our last meal in Venice before heading back home. We did not need any more EUR. Thus we ended up withdrawing EUR50 to pay for the lunch plus EUR15 charges from the ATM machine operator ! Don't eat in this restaurant.

We had a lovely three course meal here this evening with excellent service. The waiters were attentive without being pushy. We had some of the most expensive fish options for our main course with a few side dishes, plus wine, a beer and complimentary limoncello. Our antipasti starter was generous and the tirasimu dessert was delicious.
The bill ( including service) came to 90 euros. We felt it was excellent value for the quality and amount of food we had

We just had a very disappointing experience. The pizza was good but the pasta was overcooked and under salted, and clearly came out of a box (or can). We explained to the waitstaff that we were not happy with the meal after trying it. We were first informed that there was no manager on staff (on a Saturday evening) and therefore there was no way to take the items off of our bill. We persisted because we were that shocked by the poor quality of the food. The evident owner of the place came by and tried to convince us to exchange our meals, which we were not interested in having already tried two disappointing dishes. After a 20 minute wait, a woman who seemed to have authority, came to our table and yelled at us while stamping her feet like a toddler and slamming items on the table, saying that we had eaten the bread and pizza, so were therefore full and that was our excuse for not eating their cheap pasta. Please note, this was a personal pizza shared by three people. In addition there was a service fee and cover charge included in the bill. Now we are eating dinner at another restaurant with edible food and much nicer staff.

Not the best. Also the vibe was quite uncomfortable as the boss kept rushing the waiters around quite obviously. Gnocchi e salmone wants the best. Also they charge coperto 2 euros per person as well as service charge 10%. Wouldn’t come here.

we had dinner there on 07/11/22. the food is was good and the atmosphere was pleasant. a good place to relax from sightseeing. However, when I saw the receipt, I felt cheated. 10% servicio are normal in Italy, but again 2€ Coperto per person are grossly exaggerated!!! According to Google, Coperto says that they covered the table. so we ate for 100€ and had to pay another 30€ on top of that (receipt below). Peter Giesel would call it a touristtrap. absolutely outrageous. NEVER AGAIN!!!

We have been visiting this restaurant every year for over 15 years and have always been very enthusiastic and satisfied. Unfortunately, what was once a family-run and lovely business has become a boring and lifeless place to serve customers. The quality of the food has deteriorated alarmingly, the waiters are listless and cold. The "mother" keeps a close eye on the staff and remains dismissive of guests if there are any obvious shortcomings. And what annoyed me most is that a 13% tip is automatically included. With a total bill for 4 people of over 141.25 euros, that was a 16.25 tip, which I would normally be happy to give, but here it was almost a rip-off. We will not be visiting this restaurant again in the future.

We stayed at Hotel Tivoli and this restaurant wasn't far from there so on the 3rd of October we said we would give it a try and relax for awhile after doing a bit off sightseeing. We were delighted we chanced it.
Great value, pleasant staff and the courtyard added to the charm of this restaurant and it was great to sit back and enjoy the hustle and bustle of this area.
We opted for Calzone and Margherita pizza's and they all tasted great.

whether you are a tourist or a local, I strongly advise you to come to Da Sara. An excellent restaurant with welcoming and kind staff. the dishes are as beautiful as they are good and vary from typical Venetian dishes based on both meat and/or fish, to the most classic pizzas. I personally took a white 4-cheese pizza, and although I generally prefer Neapolitan pizzas, I was more than pleasantly surprised :) try it for yourself ;)

Lovely food and lovely friendly, generous and welcoming owners/staff.
In the tourist hotspots of Venice's back streets, it was good to find such outstanding food and value. We will definitely return on our next visit to Venice.

It's good, delicious food, nice space and fast service. We arrived at the restaurant at lunch time and we could choose whether to eat outside on a patio or inside, we chose to eat inside since it was winter. They left us the menu, we chose (all the dishes looked good) and soon they brought us the food (some macaroni bolognese, some spaghetti with clams and a salmon with vegetables). Everything is correct, we recommend it for tourists and those who live in Venice.
Recommendations: tiramisu and pasta.
We ate well, recommended.

Short review: Hidden gem in Venice (outside the tourist trap area). A must visit for rich flavoured and tasteful local Italian dinner.
Elaborate review:
What makes it remarkable:
1. It is away from the tourist traps, which maintains reasonable prices and relaxed ambience where you can enjoy your meal without having to line-up for long. It is only 15 minutes walk from Venice train station. It is also 5 minutes from one of the vaporetti stops.
2. Authenticity of menu and quality of ingredients are supreme. I met with the chef to compliment the food and ask about some recipes, and I learned that the owner has been in the restaurant business for over 40 years, and this explained a lot.
I visited this restaurant multiple times during my visit to try different dishes. As the quality of food and service were always guaranteed. A major characteristic of touristic spots are tourist traps, where you will pay more for mediocre quality. So, once you find a decent place, you would re-visit, like this restaurant.
Pasta Carbonara: I had pasta carbonara, it was done to perfection. They make it with pancetta, instead of guanciale to be less fatty and give deeper cured flavour.
Grilled vegetables: The plate had generous portions of flavourful assortments, with fine olive oil.
Pizza: They serve Roman-style pizza, thin and crispy crust. Toppings were fresh and tasty. You can request the pizza to be split into 2 halves, to try different toppings. One pizza can easily feed 2 people.
Appetizers: Insalata di polpi (octopus salad), similar to the other dishes, tasty and made to perfection.
Dessert: Tiramisu and panna cotta were very good.
Finished the meals with espresso coretto.
Finally, the place has indoors and outdoors seating areas depending on the weather and your preferences.
This restaurant was recommended to me by a local and experienced traveler. And I am passing on the baton to whoever reads this review.

San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
