I am writing a disappointing review because of the rude service. The restaurant is recommended as the 3rd best in Venice to serve Tiramisu, and we only visited it because the other two were closed. After waiting for at least 5 minutes to be served by one of four waiters around - 3 of who walked past us in no... More

Ristorante A Beccafico was the place where we enjoyed our last dinner in Venice on a Saturday night. Although frequent visitors to La Serenissima, we did not know this tasty locale until it was recommended by the concierge at our hotel, the Westin Europa and Regina. The concierge was well informed and the restaurant was delightful -- clearly not a... More

This restaurant was recommended by our host in Venice and it did not disappoint me at all. I must say they have the best seafood platter in Venice. They serve food in very decent portion. Inexpensive and value for money! We enjoyed the food very much!

We didn't make reservations but the stuff was really nice to find one extra table outside for two of us. We simply got the best of Italy and Venice in one place (Italian hospitality and Italian food) you can't go wrong with that. The food was so good that we forgot to take pictures so you guys can see, but... More

Hotel booked this for us - their recommendation for somewhere close to hotel on first night after 3 hour delay. Seemed popular with people queing for table just after we arrived. The food and service was very good. The small bottle of chilled Limoncello given to us at the end was very welcome after a stressful day travelling, but we... More

Came back to Venice after four years and the food and service are still great. This time we also went with our Americanh friends Tom and Kathy and they also enjoyed it tremendeously. The owner even remembered me and gave us a small bottle of Limoncello for free - yummy.

Yes, this is truly, truly golden!!!! I want to be selfish and not share my review but thinking of my delicious meal experience, I want to tell pasta lovers to get here asap!!!! It is a small bistro by th S. Stefano plaza, recommended by our hotel concierge. Space is tight and you can here your neighbors conversation. So, dont... More

Lovely seafood dishes in a nice outdoor setting on Campo Santo Stefano. A bit formal service was efficient and helpful, and even our a little noisy company (family of five) felt very welcome. Would definitely recommend!

The food here is very tasty and not overwhelming with piles and piles of pasta, just delicious food in exquisite sauces. The service can be a little slow and the waiters a little distant- don't know why. But the maitre d was charming and chatty which made up for it. The square itself has enough buzz to make it fun,... Description
Just accross the Ponte Ascedemia. Lovely and serean in a quiet pizza very near to Pizza San Marco. Wine not served by the glass - they open a bottle of wonderful house wine and only charge you for what you drink. Excellent friendly service and good food.

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
