We were in Venice in oct of 2012 and ate at this place. It was so good! It was not very crowded when we went but we went a little before most people eat dinner. They staff was nice and the food was delicious. I had the gnocchi in a meat sauce and wish I knew how to make it... More

Fantastic pokey, little restuarant!! We chose the tourist menu. No service or cover charges. The food was fresh and delicious. Spaghetti Bolognaise was beautiful and pizza was to die for! Good service and friendly staff. Prices reasonable too. Had to queue but........ well worth it and the waiter gave us a free wine whilst we were waiting on a table!

Stumbled upon this restaurant the second day we were in Venice. It had a TripAdvisor certificate in the window and it looked like a spot for locals as well. It's small and family owned/run. I've been three times in one week! Why? Good portions of pasta for your money and house red wine is decent for a cheap price! Waiters... More

Went to this local Osteria for lunch, as it was near our hotel. You will find locals having their lunch here for home cooked, quality rustic food, nothing fancy, but quite tasty. We had 2 pasta dishes, some polpette, drinks and bread basket Total Eur 10 each for lunch. No cover charge. Cannot ask for more in the middle of... More

This restaurant was full so we tried it, what a mistake! I had steak, could of got a better steak from a wetherspoons pub! My wife had a simple pasta dish, which made her sick for the rest of the night and the following day! Plus it is not cheap for the rubbish they churn out!!

If you're looking for superb, home cooked, quality, rustic food that is none touristy then this is for you. A pleasure. No frills, nothing fancy, just the real deal. Everything I could have hoped for in Venice and good value too.

Large platters, great seafood, fast and kind service--smattering of locals and tourists and families. Wonderful soup for a cold night. Nothing fancy but fills the bill.

For two plates of acceptable but certainly not extraordinary pasta and tomato sauce, we paid 30 euros! The menu listed the price as an expensive 9,50 euros per plate, but with ripoff water and cover charges, the total price was preposterously high.

Went here for my birthday and was not disappointed. Ordered antipasto for starter and was taken by surprise when it arrived (enough meat on the plate for about 3 people although menu did not say it was for sharing) the next course of mushroom tagliatelle was lovely and the veal escalope at the end was very nice but with a... Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
