Excellent food and wine. We had the black ink spaghetti and carbonara. Both were delicious. It's a must if you visit.

Food is OK. Packed with people and tables on Friday night. We ordered Capreze salad, see picture - tomato with cheese and cream cheese ? on top. It is not a classic salad. Pizza Verdure was Ok. Tiramisu biscuot was soaked with too much bitter coffe. + 1/2 beer 7 euro. Diet coke 4.5 euro Total with 12% service was... More

We were wandering around Venice and came across this wonderful little place. We didn't have a reservation but within 10 minutes the waiter managed to find us a table. All the staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. At the end of the meal we were served with a chocolate containing a liquer- but as two of don't... More

We had a perfectly fine lunch, pizza and calzone. There is also a comprehensive wine list. Staff as sullen as anywhere in Italy but very efficient. Great place to stop right in the heart of Venice.

My boyfriend and I went to this restaurant the other evening. Our booking was unfortunately misplaced, which wasn't a problem as they quickly got us seated, even thought it was very busy! The food was great, I ordered a caprese salad and my boyfriend the seafood pasta, we then shared a tiramisu and was given free shots of what they... More

We were treated very arrogantly at a number of water side Restraunt's at the Rialto Bridge. Not so here, the staff were very helpful, charming gave us great service. We tried the bruschetta and each of us had salads. Excellent just excellent you can add to the salad make up by choice. You will not be disappointed..

Reservations are a must. If you find you must go. Simply fantastic service, excellent food, great wine and staff that were friendly and helpful. Check out the Murano glasses they sell a real deal. Would highly recommend for lunch or dinner. Not an easy spot to locate but definitely a spot to venture to.

Da Mamo is a bit out of the way, but worth the trouble of seeking it out. Tasty bruschetta, a lovely spaghetti carbonara, a nice cold draft beer to wash it down. Then a slow walk back to the hotel in the cool evening. Pretty well perfect.

The food in this restaurant was absolutely excellent!! The seafood pasta was delicious. The service was ok but not the best. Our food came before the drinks and when I pointed this out I don't think the waiter was very happy. I then felt that they were a little rude after that. The table we shared with another couple and... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
