It is simply a touristy place that is quite expensive. Two pizzas and one large and one small beer totalled 42 euros. My wife and I ordered two different pizzas and they were average at best by Italian standards. We didn't have any pastas, however, we came with our baby and asked for a half portion and we were informed... More

We ate here our first night after reading reviews. We were one of the first to go in once it opened at 7 pm. The place became crowded later. We had linguini with seafood, ravioli, chicken parmigiano, and a salad. All were delicious and of good portions. We saw the pizza ordered from other tables and it looked good. Prices... More

We stumbled on this restaurant by researching places with the best Gnocchi. We screwed up. They did not serve gnocchi, but the food was delicious! The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and the staff were friendly. We had the bruschetta, pesto pasta, ravioli as well as the gorgonzola pizza and the lamb. All were amazing :)

We came for lunch -- three adults and a 7 year old. The waiter was super nice and attentive, especially to your kiddo. This is definitely not your average pizza joint. They served a tasty little amuse bouche before the meal, and there's a pretty extensive selection of wine and beer. However, the pizzas were only so-so. To be honest,... More

Recommended to us. Great pizzas, reasonable prices given the location, cheap using the 'aperol spritz' economic guide. Friendly and funny waitering staff.

We came upon this place in the back streets and liked the look of it and when we read the reviews we decided to give it a try. Arriving at 6:30 it was closed until 7:00, so we went back at 6:55 when there was a queue waiting for it to open (a good sign). The restaurant is fairly small... More

De Mamo was a great restaurant in Venice. Many restaurants are overpriced and food mediocre in Venice. De Mamo has delicious pizza, salads, and many other main dish choices. We enjoyed their chicken with Mozzerella, pesto pasta, margherita pizza. The wait staff were very friendly. So good, we went their twice for lunch. Get there early bc it gets pretty... More

We stumbled upon Da Momo in Venice. We were starving, saw a TripAdvisor logo on the door and took a chance. We had no idea it was highly rated and we got lucky to get a seat...there was one table open by the door. We saw maybe 50 people without reservations get turned away in an hour. There are only... Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
