Vast menu for every taste, fish, meat, pasta and pizza. The staff are very pleasant and no matter how busy it gets the service is quick. Really good value, 2 courses for two with wine no more that 50 euro. Plenty of locals and other Italians were there also which is a good sign. Would go back again if I... More

After a day wandering the streets and waterways of Venice the food at Le Campane was just what we needed for dinner to recharge. A starter of Parma ham, tomato and mozzarella was followed by a gigantic pizza and fried fish. Delicious.

We have visited Le Campane before and it is a really nice place to enjoy an evening meal. We were warmly greeted on arrival and the quality, quantity and presentation of our meals was of a high standard. Food is priced at a reasonable level and its a very warm and welcoming environment to eat in.

We have spent here two of our four dinners in Venice. You mostly find local people here, which is good sign. Good food at reasonable cost. Very Friendly staff. Do not hesitate to go here if visiting cannaregio.

We were the first two people in, but we were warmly welcomed and enjoyed our meal. By the time we left, it was filling up and the atmosphere was good. We had a very pleasant evening and enjoyed our food.

We visited late at night and were welcomed in even though it was obvious they were about to close. The food was excellent & with very good prices. Our waiter was very professional & friendly. Very nice experience.

When you are at a restaurant and hearing Italian spoken around you by the patrons it's s good sign. Did takeaway one night and then ate in the back shaded garden area the following night. The pizza is good value and traditional thin crusty Italian style. Go the Capriccosa mixed! Fish and polenta was fresh, the risotto too salty to... More

My husband and I stayed three night in Venice and discovered this gem on the first evening. We ate dinner there every night! You can dress up or down, prices can't be beat. The house wine was better than the bottle we ordered. Salads and pizzas were delicious (especially with the chili oil), but DO NOT MISS the lobster ravioli... More

I worked in the cruise industry and spent a lot of time in Italy. Roberto always made us feel welcome, food excellent, great prices, Il giardino (Back garden) is just wonderful. Tiramisu OUTSTANDING, House wine delicious, The atmosphare relaxed, and just simply wonderful. I miss the place and can only recommend to go there, having a nice meal in the... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
