TL; DR: This place is a scam, ripoff, and terrible food. Their reputation will catch up to them. Choose ANYWHERE else! We chose this restaurant based on the reviews for New Years Dinner. When we arrived, they had a prix fixe menu with no price...listed. We were told that this menu was the only one they were serving for the night. We debated leaving but stayed since we thought it might be hard to find dinner elsewhere on a holiday. Mistake! They allowed other people seated at the same time as us, before us, and after us to order off their regular menu. When we asked the server if we could remove the wine (I'm pregnant and can't drink), she said yes and it would be removed from the bill. They charged $280 euro ($314 US) for the meal - including the wine bottle and dessert we didn't have. The manager LIED to our faces saying they were serving prix fix until a set time and refused to refund us. On top of all this, it was TERRIBLE food. Half our plates went back to the kitchen, completely unedible. AVOID! It's a tourist trap that price gouges visitors. We visited another restaurant our last night and when we told them this story, the server laughed and said they have a very, very bad reputation.More

I booked via The Fork because it said we would get 20% off the bill. That never happened. My daughter ordered a tonno e cipolla pizza which somehow transmogrified into something with ham and mushrooms on it, neither of which she likes. We ordered some...bresaola which never came. I think the head waiter guy had a bit of an erratic night. Anyway, the food wasn’t terribly expensive (the head waiter had pumped me to take oysters, the “special” on that evening, and they were very good, simply served with some lemon, they were about 3e each. I thought I might get ripped off, and was pleasantly surprised I wasn’t). The fritto misto di mare was good too, hot and crispy on the outside. Drinks were reasonably priced, our glasses of refosco were lovely. So in conclusion; food is good; don’t expect to get 20% off unless you want to hound the staff for it; and be prepared for someone to forget your order or mess it up somewhat. If you are easily annoyed or dislike on-the-hoof comedy try the Dona Onesta.More

This restaurant is a gem! One of the best meals in Italy. Our first night we had the homemade pasta with seafood. It was so wonderful that we returned the next night for pizza, which was fantastic. Luca knows how to make you feel at...home in Venice. Thank you!More

We - a family of 5 - had a great dinner at Osteria Al Vecio Forno. Great pizzas for our teenagers and excellent seafood pasta for the rest of the family. A few blocks away from the absolute center, but in Venice no venue is...more than a 15 min walk away!More

We were seated outside, at the back door, literally by the river. Perfect scenery! Food was very good and the waiter (Luca di Venezia) really made the difference. Charming but at no time pushy and always with a joke on his lips. Highly recommendable!!
