It is just off Rialto Bridge by the Fish Market, so we would assume the fish would be fresh.
The salad was very nice. Fritto Misto could have had a wider variety.
For a prime location, fresh produce, it is very good reasonable price, as cheap as you would expect Venice to be.

What a great place located exactly across the fish market. I tried the mixed fried fish with Polenta. It is served in a cardboard cup where the polenta is on the bottom and the fried fish is on top. It looks great and tastes very good as well. The staff was VERY friendly and took all the time to help us choose. Prices are very good compared to the other snack bars. There is no place to sit.

This is truly the perfect place for healthy street food. I strongly recommend the sardines in saor, the scallops au gratin and the salad of octopus celery and potatoes. I’ll be back for more tomorrow

I wanted to experience Venetian seafood misto... but not as a meal. Found this place, just behind the Rialto fish market. We ordered 2 cups, and they were delicious. No tables, so we ate at an outside counter. It was fun watching the birds sneak up on the seafood merchants.
Seafood cup consisted of smelt, squid, and shrimp, carrot, and a layer of plain polenta at the bottom.
Everything was delicate and perfectly fried. My kid was a bit freaked out by the whole smelt. I ate it for them. Lol.

Walked past this and nearly didn't notice it! Inside is a wide choice of fish dishes (it is next to the fish market after all!) , which you eat standing up. If you don't want to eat pizza by the slice, which isn't Venetian, then this is a good alternative if you only want something small. We had the mixed fried fish, along with a bunch of locals and Italian tourists.

If you are looking for an authentic dining experience in Venice, WENICE is the perfect place for you. Located in San Polo, mirroring the fish market and in the heart of the city, this place offers a selection of typical Venetian dishes that will make you fall in love with the local cuisine!
Excellent raw material.
To mention their wonderful mixed fish and shellfish fry, crisp and dry, served in a paper cone, perfect while strolling through the alleys. Do not miss the Sarde in saor, which will make you discover the true authentic flavors of Venice and try their creamy cod that stands out from all the others, because it is super creamy and tasty.
The place is small but very cozy, with an atmosphere that will make you feel immediately at home. The staff is always friendly and ready to recommend the best dishes of the day.
The service is fast and efficient, ideal for those who want to enjoy a quick meal without sacrificing quality. The care in preparing the dishes and attention to detail are evident in every bite and with its offer of traditional dishes and impeccable service, this place will surely leave you very satisfied.
Excellent value for money!!!

A great discovery. This small delicatessen offers excellent dishes (really impressive fried foods), very fresh fish at very honest prices. Without a doubt the place where I ate best in Venice.

Just what I needed. When the market doesn’t have oysters being cracked for you with the rest of the seafood. A short jaunt allowed me to find a few oysters and Prosecco at a great price. Perfect yea it start the morning. The oysters were fresh and the cracked pepper and lemon were plenty to flavor them!

Walking in the Rialto market area, we are intrigued by the comings and goings of people entering and leaving this place. The frying looks really inviting so we decide to stop. Excellent choice, the mixed fry with polenta is hot, not greasy and very very good. Really satisfying, we will be back for sure.

We came here in June 2023 as part of a tour and the fritto misto was so good, we ended up coming back on our own a few hours later for another round. What looks like a gelato shop from the street serves up some of the best friend fish you’ll have, which is especially impressive among a sea (get it?) of vendors around the Rialto fish market, also serving up fried fish and cicchetti. Definitely worth a stop

On a recent food tour, our tour guide brought us here. Located across from the fish market each dish was inspired by the ‘catch of the day’.
We tried three dishes and a glass of Prosecco.
Everything was fresh and delicious. If we’d had more time in Venice we’d have happily eaten here again.

During a casual walk to the Rialto fish market, we came across Wenice... and how lucky! We hadn't planned to stop, but we were immediately drawn to the original style of the place. We decided to try their mixed fried, served in a paper cup, and it was really a surprise: crisp and fresh, with the taste of the sea that you could feel with every bite!
Our little girl loved the idea of eating something so original while exploring the Venetian calli.
The friendliness of the staff made our short stop even more pleasant.
We highly recommend this place for those looking for a tasty and different break, without too many frills, but with so much quality!
We will definitely be back!

Excellent 👌
One last stop before we leave,
We stumbled upon this mini restaurant / fish seller, the cup with squid, shrimp, a kill, although fried it was not too greasy,
My husband also tasted the fried sardine skewers and gambas, amazing!
The welcome is neat, an unmissable address!!!

One of our favourite spots in Venice. There is nowhere else to get your Frito Misto! We have been twice to Venice and headed here straight away after discovering it on a food tour previously. Ariana (filling in for Luca) was so lovely and helpful, we felt like we made a friend! We cannot wait to see you again next year!

San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
