Years I've been coming and the food, the service and the staff only gets better. Lovely little appetizer and excellent pasta. Not to speak of the wine and the grappa. Highly recommended, one of the best addresses in Venice

Although a bit off the beaten track it is easily reached by water taxi.. The restaurant has a delightful waterfront setting overlooking the Island of Murano. We had a lovely table on the terrace right on the water. Service was excellent, professional and friendly.. The food was as good as the service. We enjoyed the octopus, fried seafood and gnocchi.... Although slightly anxious due to mixed reviews we booked this restaurant for dinner. It has a wonderful position over the sea. The day before we were due there some of our party went for lunch. It was awful. The bread was stale, the food badly cooked and partly inedible. We cancelled our dinner. Is this restaurant living on its situation?... More

We visited on a Sunday late in the evening, round about 8:45pm. I'd read some reviews on here and was concerned the meal might not be great but I really enjoyed it! Amuse-bouche was a cream of aubergine and potato soup with coffee beans and it was pretty nice. I ordered Steak Tartare and it was delicious and well presented,... More

We only had morning drinks in this restaurant but the service was excellent and the cappuccino one of the best I had in Venice meals a little expensive for us

We stumbled across the restaurant by chance, as we had seen it from the Vaporetto on our way to Ospedale. The restaurant looked inviting with the outdoor seating area overlooking the lagoon. We were not disappointed. We pushed the boat out and requested the tasting menu, and every dish, from the home made bread and largest grissinni I have ever... More

We just dropped in for a drink while waiting for a boat. We thought we might have liked food, but were not offered anything other than a drink list. Two Bellinis were fine and not too expensive considering the location. But they were slow to arrive and then when we needed to go, we had to get up and walk... More

We visited this restaurant in Venice for having a great location and view. The menu prices look fair but once we ordered the pasta, it came in a large plate and was almost empty: a very small meal not even for a person. Add to that the pasta was cold and not well cooked. 22/sept/2016

what a great location to spend our last evening in Venice. The food was great and the service was friendly, once you got their attention. We were celebrating a birthday and this restaurant was a perfect choice.

I'm ashamed to admit it, but this restaurant has proved to be a tourist trap which I unfortunately have fallen for. As someone who has worked in the industry and has been in Venice thousands of times I should have the relevant antibodies for this type of establishment. This time, however, I had proof that no one is safe from... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
