I came here with my Mum on a Wednesday night and we had an absolutely perfect meal. The waiters were fantastic, knew exactly how to advice us, very professional but also made us laugh as well. Food is just delicious, would really recommend the beef tartare to start followed by the pumpkin spaghetti!! Plus the location is amazing, quiet and... More

Sit overlooking the lagoon while enjoying the superb cuisine, lovely place to watch the vaporetto's arriving and the hustle and bustle of Venetian rush hour! Good is excellent with fresh fish and beautiful beef dishes, good wine list too. A very romantic setting .

I like this restaurant. The chef cooks traditional Venetian dishes with creativity and nice taste. The view over the Laguna is wonderful. It is pricy, but the service is excellent and if you are gourmet, you will appreciate this culinary experience.

Wanted a special evening and the Algiubagio didn't disappoint. Food was fine dining with amazing presentation and service that was not in your face. Able to relax and enjoy the food and wine with the sun setting. A night to remember.

The food was very nice- my friend had ravioli and I had beef tartare. Although the amount was quite small, we feel stuffed after. The wine was good. Somehow we felt that the service should improve more - they like dropping cutlery... It was €60 in total with bread basket

Algiubagio on the water with a view of Murano has several tasting menu options as well as a vegetarian menu. I enjoyed an aperol spritz, of which I was an early adopter, with the bouche of melon gazpacho with cucumbers and chocolate bites: a fresh surprise. For an entrée, I chose the potato crème with caviar, truffles and scallops which... More

We went for dinner and I was so impressed with the taste sample of my partners dish I vowed to return the next evening. The very pleasant waiter remembered us and smiled knowingly when I ordered the beautiful ravioli dish, filled with scallops on a pea purée. The other pasta dishes ordered on both nights were refined and tasted delicious.... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
