Great service nice food our best dining experience in Venice

The food here was tasty and seemed to be freshly cooked ( unlike certain other establishments) The service was attentive yet not rushed. My wife and I enjoyed a very filling two corse meal with drinks (no room for dessert) for €76 plus tip which we gladly added. This is a restaurant I would gladly... read more

We were tempted in by a man outside who promised us home cooked Italian food and reasonably priced drinks, he wasn't wrong. I had lasagne and my husband had the bolognese which both were very good. the restaurant was large, comfortable with a mix of Italians and other tourists and children. the staff were attentive and polite. Grand canal runs... More

We had dinner here with kids aged 6 & 8. The waiters were attentive and great with the kids. The food was slightly different to the Italian they are used to but tasted amazing and the views of the canals made for an entertaining dinner. We would definitely head back here next time in Venice.

We had a couple of meals here over Christmas and were well served by attentive staff. The food was OK for its price range, but nothing exceptional.

Two rounds of beef fillet cooked to absolute perfection - perfectly moist, amazingly tender...speechless!!! Brilliant service...the only restaurant we visited in Venice that took the time and initiative to ask us how the meal was half way through; portions were well sized, good value for money, friendly and cheerful staff... Can't wait to go again!

This was the worst meal we have had in Italy in two weeks. Pedestrian food and the only saving grace was the wine we selected. Don't bother.

Me and my family ate here on Christmas day 2015 and although we had not reserved on a night that was fully booked, they kindly made room for us. The service was first class and the food was outstanding. If you like top end pasta and seafood without paying ridiculous prices, then this place is perfect. They will also cater... More

Highly recommend this place, it has really great outdoor seating ambience. Menu is very reasonably priced, the wine was good too. I was amazed at this restaurant on the Main Street and so near to the train station serves good food that was cheaper than another restaurant we went. The pasta was tasty, we ordered steak too, but it was... More

My wife and I enjoyed a lovely evening meal on our recent visit to Venice, we were strolling past and a gentleman enticed us in with the promise of home cooked food, and he wasnt wrong. Starters were very good, big portions of a Caprese salad hor my wife, assorted cured meats for me, both superb. We both had seafood... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
