This is just off the main tourist route but it lacks in personality and charm. The drinks were fine and the menu has an adequate coverage. The servings were small and the service was not the best. Pasta dishes were served with a minimum of sauce but were adequate

We ordered mix seafood pasta (favorite in italy and cant have enough of it) and it turned out to be great. We ended up finishing it up completely. The service was good too.

We stumbled across this place over a busy Easter weekend. The food was hearty and delicious, very traditional and we thought the service was adequate. We were looking for somewhere to fill our bellies and not break the bank and this place delivered.

We were looking at our map for another restaurant when the owner invited us in. He actually came out and tried to help us with our map. We decided to eat there and were very pleased. Everyone was very friendly, the service was excellent. We all had delicious meals and desserts. We were treated to a drink on the house... More

Great food, service and value. We will return. The seafood is delicious and fresh. Very generous portion sizes. There is a 2€ service fee (standard in Venice) but they kindly waved it for us just because (maybe because we tried to talk in Italian during the meal hehe)

We had the Lasagna and Traglitelli (sp?) with truffle oil and mushrooms. The food was great and the service was sufficient. They also have a fairly diverse menu to suit most patrons.

almost not a tourist trap but really nothing special. We were looking for a nice restaurant in Venice, at night. Found this one and decided to give a try. Not Desapointed, but nothing much to enjoy, neither the look or the taste.

This restaurant is a fine little jewel and is great for all. The food, especially the lasagna, is the best. The staff were great and attentive. We have eaten here before and have never had a problem. If you stay at the B&B Barababao you receive discount as well.

This was not a bad choice for a meal, food was good and portion sizes were fine ( not American sizes) We had a mixture of spaghetti dishes and all were hot and tasty. Service was fine and we had no issues at all.

We ate here on our last night in Venice. We had the seafood risotto which was very good. It was piping hot and a great portion to serve 2 with plenty of prawns, squid and mussels - no shells or peeling to contend with which was good. We had a carafe of house red which was decent quality. Unfortunately, the... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
