This is certainly the best restaurant we have visited in Venice. Recommended on Rick Stein and so glad we went there. Friendly staff with excellent service and great recommendations for food from the staff, expensive yes but worth every euro.

We visited the restaurantby recommendation. Its a hell-hole, grilled sea scallops with black truffle tasted like a blade of grass, second course nothing special. Very overpriced.

Excellent quality but a little pricy: for a first course that we shared and two main courses+ 1/4l of the cheapest white whine, the bill was of 85€. However, the food was excellent, well presented, elaborate, and fresh from the rialto market. We were served appetizers while waiting for the main course which was really nice. Excellent restaurant for a... More

Best meal we had in Venice, definitely worth making a reservation. Classic Venetian cuisine with a contemporary twist. Great service and cozy location. Not pretentious yet sophisticated. Very friendly and accommodative staff. I hope to return!!!

Our family had a late lunch after spending many hours walking in Venice. The Restuarant is on a lovely quiet road We were given tasty complimentary cones filled with fried shrimps. We had pasta with clams and pasta with octopus/ink squid. Seconds were sea bream and John Dory, both superbly prepared. Ended with expresso. Service was friendly and professional .... More

One of my favourite places in this touristic city, hidden away in a residential area, it has one of the best foods in town, run by the next generation with the first still there to keeping an eye and helping out. The food is excellent, do not leave without ordering a desert, the dark chocolate mousse is simply magical!

We sought out this "Big Night" favorite of Stanley Tucci in the San Polo district of Venice. Far from the hub of tourist traps and overpriced bland food. This fantastic gem of spot is truly Venetian. We loved the little shrimp "Fries" that were wrapped in paper as an amuse bouche. The seafood and pasta dishes were so divine and... More

Quite a few meals in Venice and a few in Milan prior to arriving but this was the standard bearer. We arrived early and wanted to sit outside but were told to come back at our scheduled time and they would try. Success. Seafood heavy and all prepared so well. Staff spoke very good English and even threw in some... More

Believe the hype. Sat outside on a lovely July evening with tables of locals nearby. Food is fresh and well-presented. Service is friendly and efficient. Don't rush your meal. Enjoy the experience.

Did not have a reservation but found the place "by accident" and since somebody had just cancelled I was able to stay for dinner. Excellent, professional and welcoming staff and the flavours are pure and fresh. Best experiences were scallops with burrata and tomatoes - loved it - and the pineapple sorbet was a tropical party in my mouth. Highly... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
