We had touristic menu to share as the portion was large enough for 2 people. Price was reasonable and atmosphere was good. We had pasta in bolognese style, it's not the best as I have eaten much better version in Rome. The fried fish with fries were delicious.

You're near Rialto bridge, not in the canal and no breeze or nice view, plastic flowers on pots outside: Not the most appealing. Our concierge recommended it, however, it was a miss for me. The food was decent, but I'm sure there's plenty of prettier spaces with food just as good. Staff was nice though.

Such a lovely little family run restaurant just off from the canal near Rialto Bridge. We wanted to get away from all the awful low quality restaurants along the canal and found Al Paradiso. We chose the tourist menu which was fantastic value with a choice of a pasta dish, a secondi of something and chips, a choice of pudding... More

Visited Al Paradiso mid June - what a great find! Excellent menu & great wine list. I had the pappardelle with mushrooms - just sensational. The best pasta dish I had innItaly. Staff are very efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. On the expensive side but really worth it. Would certainly go back again. 👍👍👍👍

I take a group of Travel ladies to Italy every year. Venice is always our first stop and Al Paradiso Is always first on my list to take them for dinner. I am never disappointed and neither are my guest.

We had two nights in Venice and tried to avoid the "touristy" restaurants (next to the attractions), looking instead for something more authentic with greater quality and choice on the menu and less pricey. Al Paradiso (which we found from the Guardian website) is less than a minute's walk from the canal near Rialto Bridge. The quality of food (especially... More

Probably the best cooked pasta we had in Venice. Quaint little restaurant on a secluded street between the Grand Canal and a main walkway. Happy we stumbled in.

We stayed in Venice for a night, family vacation (4 adults and a 7 year old). We asked the concierge service for advice, he called them and they only had a table in an hour. he said it was worth the wait so we decided to trust him and reserve the table. We got there in advance since it was... More

This restaurant is family-owned and everyone there takes pride and care in what they offer. Tucked down a back alley just behind the Rialto, its setting is perhaps not so attractive as some others but the quality of the cooking made up for it. They use the best local fish and vegetables that you see at the nearby Rialto market,... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
