This is definitely the place to eat in if you are a proper foodie like us two. The chef changes the menu often to use fresh ingredients and always try to play with different flavors to create a true masterpiece of every dish.

Food here is inventive and good, but be prepared to wait, service is very friendly and competent but a bit slow, all was delicious, nice wines, my pulpo was a bit chewy but otherwise all good. A bit difficult to find if you are searching mid day, easy to saunter by and miss it, don't!

One of the best meals ever. Great service and fantastic location. The frito misto is an absolute must and is the nicest I've ever tasted. Try this place you will not be disappointed.

There is so much 'standard' fare in Venice that it was really great to find a restaurant which did proper and thoughtful food - yes, Italian, but no, definitely not anything you could find in any of the hundreds of restaurants trying to lure you in all over the city. Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially when the heavens... More

We chose this restaurant because it was close to our hotel and raining, and I am so glad we did! I had a pasta with meat sauce which was delicious and my husband had the guinea which he really enjoyed. Would go back if ever in Venice

Attentive staff, great food. We sat right at the canal, and enjoyed our befores of gazpacho, raw salmon with peaches, and sweet and sour scampi. That was followed by some tasty fish dishes. It was just two bridges down the canal from our hotel--so convenient--but I would have happily gone out of my way to eat here.

Quiet and by a canal. The owner waiter is excellent in wine selection and allows a taste. Good food. We ate inside because the sun was shining. We had a nice table. English spoken. Food tasty.

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
