We visited this restaurant on the strength of the trip advisor reviews and were not disappointed! Warmly welcomed and seated downstairs (we were offered choice of up or down) the staff were lovely throughout (despite it getting very busy!) and speak excellent english. Great menu with the obvious Italian classics, some Venetian dishes and a few extras so lots to... More

What a fantastic restaurant in to find in a hot July. And upstairs is so cool, romantic area for couples. My wife had the best Lamb cutlets and my arrabiartra was the best in Europe ! Chocolate souffle was amazing. I am not a sweets Peron but I am glad I asked for the chef's special desert fine slices of... More

The food was very good, also the menu. But we had to wait 45 min to get any food. A very friendly female waiter apologised explaining that there very many guests, though the restaurant was not full. A male waiter gave us wrong food and we got side orders (fried potatoes) very late. A glass for the red wine was... More

Well, the food was very tasty, nothing to say here. But the attitude was somewhat strange. One episode: the waitress asked us how many teaspoons of parmesan do we want on our pasta and took the rest away. Something not very usual, huh? Portions were also not italian. Usually you've got a plate so big that 2 people can eat... More

We were staying just around the corner from this Venetian restaurant and had walked past several times so thought we'd give it a try. We were not disappointed ~ the pizza was amazing and a very reasonable price. The house prosecco also great! A local had given us a tip to avoid a "tourist" pizzeria which would be characterised by... More

As most places are in Venice, this was hard to find even if it was pretty close to where we were staying. We were greeted when we arrived and were given options of where to sit. We eventually decided to sit upstairs due to the outside heat. We (my son and I) had the nero spaghetti and Viennese pizza. Both... More

We had our B&B nearby and decided to have dinner there. Spaghetti was cooked just right. Staff friendly and helpful giving good advice regarding the food and wine. Price absolutely ok for the size of the portion and quality. Upstairs seating also available.

Very good food and noticed the locals popping in for takeaway pizza, which is always a reassuring sign. Set menu is good value for money and the calzone was bursting off the plate it was so big. Staff very friendly and attentive despite how busy it became (again another good sign). Do consider popping in...if you'd like a relaxed atmosphere... More

Stopped in after a long morning for a quick, light lunch. Our server, Bob, was energetic and informative on the menu. Pizzas are made quickly and are excellent. Beer is cold and refreshing. Stop in you won't be disappointed.

Had dinner here and it was fantastic!! Restaurant is smallish and atmosphere is delightful!! Food was excellent, as was the service. Staff was super friendly and my son loved the gentleman at the door giving him high fives. Get the chocolate mousse, so delicious. We are here three days and have already decided we will be going to this restaurant... More

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
